Rush. D. Meyers . A. Bogo'. 'Indicates Senior Members The Cross Country Team which was sponsored by Mr. Caggiano and Mrs. Gump had a great season. The girls team consisted of eight enthusiastic members, and the boys team contained seventeen energetic boys. Both teams did their best for Canon-McMillan School.

.Xi Keith Jaimison Paul Scarmazzi The return of a hard working team of throwers and runners helped the l98l track team to a winning season. lacking depth in the sprints, the burden was placed on the field team.. The field team puled all the close meets out of the fire with fine individual performances in the jumps and throws. After the third week of the dual meet season, the Canon-McMillan Relays was held. Canon-McMillan finished fifth in a field of I3 teams. At the end of the regular dual meet sea- son, the highly competitive W.P.l.A.L. relays were held. Placing 6th in the Discus Relay was the team of Todd Gilleland, Larry Fal- coni, and .loe Sewiak. The next big meet was the Washington County Meet. Outstanding performances for Canon-McMillan were: Dean Smittle, Vernon Lauw, Mike Coleman, Todd Gille- land, Larry Falconi, and Dean Klimas. Two of Canon-Macs track members quali- fied for the State Track Meet: Vernon Lauw- Javelin, and Todd Gilleland-Discus. All in all, CM had an outstanding track season. even though weather and poor track conditions forbid them to run at the beginning of the season. 137
