The l98O-l98I Wrestling season at CMSHS re- sulted in a winning record of 9-6 which was made possible by several outstanding athletes. Harry Hritsko had a remarkable season of 29-3, which he concluded by becoming section champ. Craig Dellorso with a record of 35-5 was second run- ner-up in sections and placed fourth in WPIAL, and Dom Broglia. with a record of 2I-4, unfortu- nately was unable to attend sections due to an illness. This year's record is even more incredible when considering the fact that there were two new coaches at CM. Mr. Cook and Mr. Neuman. They did a fantastic job with the wrestlers, hav- ing seven seniors. one junior, five sophmores, and one freshman receive letters. Wrestling is one of the most popular and skillful sports at Canon-Mac and with excellent coaching and training, it should continue to produce very tal- ented wrestlers. Campbell. .58 Coach: Mr. William Davis This season we won 2 and lost 8. We had one boy qualify in the Section l8, Qualifyer Tournament. but we did not qualify anyone in the Area Qualifying Tournament. Our team was fifth in the seven team Western Conference Tournament. The season opened with one win and two losses, but we had to forfeit the win due to an ineligible player. The team worked hard No seniors came out for the team. We had to depend upon mostly untried Juniors to carry the team. Steady performances by Eric Campbell and Don DuBois were augmented by the play of Pat Serafin, Vic Lipari and Howard Ferguson. Don DuBois played his way to the Area Qualifying Tournament. Two Sophomores worked hard all season. Paul Spalvieri and Dave Tyman. Dave Tyman won the most points for our team with consis- tant play. Paul Spalvieri made the most improvement in his game this season. Two Freshmen show much promise for the future. Brad Camp- bell played high in the line-up but he could not win enough points to earn a letter. John Sandstrom played most of the season as first or second alternate. Both of these boys should help the team next year. 3M'1-As 7 lfy.' 'q.dq4,.,, .. . . .Nl V- day .
