Y-CLUBS OFFERED Pure words, pure thoughts, and pure actions comprised the slogan of ninety- eight girls of Tri-Hi-Y Club. Members ofthe club sought to create, maintain, and extend throughout the home, school, and commu- nity high standards of Christian character. , Entertaining student body with religious programs, decorating bulletin boards with 1 religious posters at Christmas and Easter, G sponsoring Christmas bake sale, planning Spring Carnival, and undertaking service projects kept Tri-Hi-Y members working throughout the school year. Newly elected ofticers attended con- ventions to better plan and district club work. The activity calendar of Hi-Y Club in- cluded many functions that accomplished club's main aim of teaching principles of brotherhood for Christian living. Hi-Il' members volunteered to collect money in Canonsburg area for Easter Seal Cam- paign. Initiation and bowling parties pro- vided relaxation for club members. On New Year's Eve, Hi-Y Club, in conjunction with Chartiers YMCA, sponsored the Father Time Frolic. ln February, nine members attended a basketball tournament in Wil- 55' merding, Pennsylvania.
