Class Prophesy As we gaze into our crystal ball, we see we are in 1968, Looking a little closer we can see what has happened to the thirty-four dignified seniors in the past 10 years. OPAL BOLIN is now head nurse at the Perry County Memorial Hospital. She recently had FREIDA CHANCELLOR as a patient who broke her leg and Bopal really fixed her up. We took a trip to Dade Park the other day and guess who we saw? None other than ROBERT CRONIN riding his famous horse, Great Balls of Fire . ROBERT EASTON is now working as carpentar at Voges’s Construction Company. This is due to the marriage of the former MISS BETTY JANE ETIENNE. FRANKIE FULKERSON is now the number one hell driver in the United States, he only broke his neck three times during the race. MARILYN FUCHS who attended the University of Texas broke down and came back to dear old Cannelton. She finally decided that every thing was too big out that way. BILL GARRETT has now taken the place of Maverick on television. They couldn’t turn him down after he showed them some of his card tricks. JANE LOU HAIR who was with TWA was discharged because they found out she was secretly married to Ed Young. Recently BARBARA HARDING flew to Hollywood where she auditioned for a part in the Life Story of Jane Russell . Put their make-up on straight. JOE HOWLAND who recently took over Blum’s Bowling Alley was accidentally hit in the head by a ball thrown by his old classmate, JOYCE JACKSON. We hate to say it but poor Joe is unconscious and all he talks about is Government. RAYMOND JELLISON and ALBERT KRATZER have started a new type of wrestling. They feature a tagmatch called The Big and Little of It . DOROTHY LITHERLAND is now the second grade teacher at Myer’s Grade School where she has had a lot of trouble out of DONNA MC FALL’S eldest child. WILL MOGAN and TOM NORTHERNOR are now the proud Senators from Indiana. We know everything will be just fine because SHERMAN POWERS is their page boy. LA VETA POWERS is now married and man has she got a bunch of little Dillies . PATRICIA RAETZ and DAVE RAUSCH have a barber salone on Main Street in Cannelton. DONALD REARDON, who owns Kentucky, was their first customer or should we say patient. MARGARET RUDOLPH who now owns her own florist shop ran Jim Mosby out of business two years ago. BERTA SANDERS is one of the top scientists of the Armed Forces. She has a pretty hard time taking care of her little Northenor’s and working at the same time. KENNETH and WANDA SEIFERT are now running the biggest ranch in Rome. They call it the Double S. MARY SINCLAIR, who is known to us as Daisy, is now playing the role of Daisy Mae along with GUY SCHROEDER who is Little Abner. If you have been to the movies lately where the Three Stooges were playing you could have seen BOB STEINSBERGER. LEON WHITEHEAD, and KENNY WRIGHT. Man it was really a riot. ERMA ZELLERS is now the editor of the Chicago Tribune. Her next editorial is now to get along in school. Class History In September of 1954. 61 very green freshmen started making their history at Cannelton High School. The students came from Junior High, St. Michael’s, Conailidated, Rome, and Tobinsport grade schools. At our first class meeting we elected the following officers: president. On class day five freshmen received special awards. Betty Jane Etienne and Raymond Jellison received the activities award; Guy Schroeder, the athletic award; and Tom Northenor and Berta Sanders, the scholarship award. In the fall of 1957, k5 Jolly juniors returned to Cannelton High to continue their high school education. Guy Schroeder was re-elected as our junior presdient, Raymond Jellison was vice president, Janice Self was secretary. Opal Bolin was treasurer, and Berta Sanders was re-elected historian. The student council representatives were Jane Lou Hair, Guy Schroeder, and Bobby Steinsberger. Miss Marlene Day and Mr. Charles Paulin were chosen as our class sponsors. Jane Lou Hair and Daisy Sinclair were varsity cheerleaders for the second year. Janice S lf and Donna McFall were the junior attendants to the football queen. Marilyn Fuchs and Opal Bolin were the basketball attendants. Bobby Steinsberger, Betty Jane Etienne, and Bi rta Sanders were in the cast of the All School Play. The junior class entertained the seniors with the annual junior-senior prom at the Hoosier Heights County Club. A great deal of hard work was spent on the planning of the prom. The theme of the prom was Hawaiian Cruise. On class night Raymond Jellison received the award of the outstanding junior. Berta Sanders was selected as the representative to attend Hoosier Girls State and Opal Bolin was her alternate. Thirty-seven dignified seniors returned to C.H.S. to complete one of the busiest and most important years of their high school carrers. The officers elected for our senior year were Guy Schroeder, president; Raymond Jellison, vice president; Opal Bolin, treasurer; Marilyn Fuchs, secretary: and Berta Sanders historian. The senior student council representatives were Guy SchroedeTj who was also president of the student council, Bobby Steinsberger, and Jane Lou Hair. Miss Marlene Day and Mr. Charles Paulin were again selected as our sponsors. Betty Jane Etienne, Daisy Sinclair, and Jane Lou Hair were varsity cheerleaders. Berta Sanders was crowned the 1957-56 football queen and Wanda Seifert was Maid of Honor. Daisy Sinclair was the basketball queen and Betty Jane Etienne was her Maid of Honor. Marilyn Fuchs, Betty Jane Etienne, and Berta Sanders were in the cast of the all school play. The senior class chose as their colors, black and white. The caps and gowns were to be black and the class flower was the white carnation. The senior celebrities chosen for the Notlennac are as follows: Most Popular Boy, Guy Schroeder; Most Popular Girl, Betty Jane Etienne; Most Talented, Opal Bolin; Prettiest Girl, Wanda Seifert; Best Looking Boy; Raymond Jellison; and Most Likely to Succeed, Berta Sanders. These students were chosen by the senior class. Berta Sanders received the D. A. R. good citizen, ship award from Cannelton High. The senior class dedicated the Notlennac to Mr. Charles Paulin, our sponsor. The senior class presented the play Let Me Grow Up . This year closes our high school carreers and also brings to a close the history that we the seniors of 1958 have made at Cannelton High School. D. Rudolph K. Raley M. Gore J U NIO R S ■OFFICERS R.
