Prophecy Mr. William E. Vaught Venice, Italy Dear Bill, We are so sorry that you could not attend our 1964 class reunion, but we realize that your being such a famous artist makes your time valuable to others. Since you could not be here, we thought that we should tell you the whereabouts of your fellow classmates of Cannelton High School. Our dear senior class president. Bill Northenor, is now a professor of Biological Science at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Barbara Alvey is owner and manager of Barb's Gym For Girls. She thinks that all girls should develop muscles. Garry Anderson, our straight A student in high-school, couldn't attend our reunion because he is in Michigan City, Indiana. He will be there until 1974. Maybe he'll attend our 1974 reunion. He wrote us a letter saying that he has learned that crime doesn't pay. Richard Dickie Bauer was just demoted from a pfc to a buck-private. You'd never guess why—he went AWOL to marry our own dear little Betty Bryant. Arthur Poore, pastor of the Seventh Street Baptist Church in Cannelton, performed the ceremony. Gene Clemens now owns a hot-tamachmachablies shop across the street from dear old C. H. S. He always has a rush at noon hour. He is now under investigation; the school claims that he is ruining the cafeteria business. Joyce Dutschke has just become the first beautician to give a free peroxide included with each permanant. Johnny Elder has just been voted Hollywood's most handsome actor. He got his start at Cannelton High School by portraying Groucho Marx. Bill Farquhar and Dee Dee Zellers Farquhar filed suit for divorce for the tenth time several months ago. As they entered the courtroom, they changed their mind. They decided to give their marriage one more try. Earl Hay is now captain of the Los Angeles Rams. Harry Lain is the first playing-coach of the Cleveland Browns in their history. Gerald Jacobs is now playing basketball with the Harlem Globe Trotters, the team for which Shirley Young is chief cheerleader. Billy Lain's wife is suing him for divorce. She is suing him on the grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment—he won't ever let her get a word in! Leonard Mitchell, having been out of school for ten years, has advanced considerably. He is now Mr. Russell Clement's chauffeur. Joe Mogan and Eric Whitehead have just organized the first farmers union in the history of the United States. Veneta Morris has just bought the Sunlight Hotel, famous for quality foods the world over. Alma Payne is now the owner of an exquisite dress and furniture shop. It is called Almater's Shoppe, and it makes over a million dollars a year for Alma. Jim Paulin has just taken over Albert Einstien's position as the greatest scientist in the United States. His latest invention is the new Z-Bomb. Phyllis Clements is now serving as a missionary to Africa. She was influenced by Arthur Poore, pastor of the Seventh Street Baptist Church. Theresa Payne is still trying to get her B. S. degree in Education. She has flunked the final exams five times. Before long she will be able to recite the questions, even though she can't answer them. Jim Powers in now a Captain in the U. S. Navy. The name of his ship is U. S. S. Powers. Nellie Schraner is now Secretary of Cannelton High School. She couldn't stand to have the school out of her sight. Naomi Veatch is now singer-cigarette girl in New York's Club 21. She got her start at CHS when she sang on the class convocations. Nancy Spencer is now manager of the St. Louis Cardinals. Her team was first in the league last year because no other manager could compete with Nancy's ability to argue baseball. Betty Spencer, former football queen of C. H. S., is now a professional model in New York City. Lee Reed became a millionaire overnight—he discovered oil on his farm near Rome.
