C OA4. 9bL t ytjy. On Sept. 12, 1949, 56 greenies were enrolled in CHs. Many of the se students came from Myers Grade School while the remainder were from Rome, Derby, Tobinsport, St. Michaels and Consolidated. At our first class meeting the following officers were elected: Pres. Jimmy Burden, Vice, Bill Posey, Sec. Joyce Franzman, Treas. Ann Forsaith, His. Augusta Walls. Our sponsors were Miss Mabel and Mr. Parks. Ann Forsaith and Norman Nugent were elected as our Student Council Representatives. Three outstanding awards were given. The scholastic award was given to Judy Cadwell. Activities to Ann Forsaith and athletic award to Dickie Meador. During our freshman year we chose our class flowers as the white carnation, our colors, blue and white and our class motto To rest is not to conquer, which we have kept for our four years. Thus, we ended our days as green freshman and advanced to the silly soph, stage. Our enrollment for the Sophomore year was lowered to 46 students. One of our classmates, Emmett Henning was killed over the summer mos. Our sponsors were Miss Mable and Coach Hafele. Our class officers were Pres. Charlie Moore, Vice. Betty Farquhar, Sec. Jeannine Huber, Treas. Ann Forsaith. Student council representatives were Joyce Franzman and Jim Steinsberger. The Jolly Juniors entered the new school year with 37 students. This year we were host to the Sr. at the Jr. -Sr. Prom. The theme of our prom was Moonlight and Roses. and was held at the Hoosier Heights Country Club with Dixie Davis and his orchestra. Augusta Walls was chosen by the Legion Auxilliary to be sent to Girl's State. Joyce Franzman was chosen as her alternate. The Legion chose Jim Millburn as their choice to go to Boy’s State with Norman Schroeder as his alternate. Jim Millbum also became the proud possessor of the Kiwansis Award. Our sponsors were Midd Redmon and Mr. Etienne. Class officers were Charlie Moore, Pres. Judy Cadwell, vice, Ann Forsaith, Sec. Jim Millburn, Treas. Student Council rep. were Dave Chenault, Jim Steinsberger and Augusta Walls. Betty Jo Farquhar was crowned by popular votes as Football queen by Roy Maxey, captain. After a well-earned vacation 33 dignified Seniors returned for the final year. Mrs. Vaughn and Coach Ramsey were chosen to be our class sponsors. Charlie Moore was elected pres. Judy Cadwell, vice, Ann Forsaith, Sec, and Jim Millburn, Treas. Student Council rep. were Jim Steinsberger, Dici Meador, and Ramona Seibert. Ramona Seibert wrote our class song. Wanda McFarling was crowned 1952-53 football queen by popular votes. Dickie Meador, captain did the honors. Augusta Walls was crowned Basketball queen by captain, Norman Nugent. Larry Dawson and Judy Cadwell were crowned 1952-53 Prom King and Queen by Pres. Bill Northenor and Vice Threasa Payne. We went to St. Louis for three days with our class sponsors.

I, James Dixon, will my motto, Why marry and make one miserable when you can stay single and keep them all happy”, to my brother, Jackie. He'll need it. I, Betty Jo Farquhar, will my ability to get a Maxey to Lizzie Polk. Any of them but Roy, Lizzie. I, Ann Forsaith, will my spelling ability to Carol Rae Baker. Don't use it in any contests. You won't win! I, Joyce Franzman, will my ever-lasting freckles to Joyce Dutschke. Take good care of them, Joyce, as it took me a long time to get them. I, Ronnie Gaynor, will my ability to get all A's in shop to Billy Farquhar. Carry on Willie. I, Albert Harpe, will my way with the women to Joe Mogan. I, Jeannine Huber, will my ability to be satisfied with one boy to Janice York. Take care of it, it is a rare thing around this school. I, Duane Leaf, will my good behavior in shop class to Stanley Sutton. I, June Lyons, will my ability to lose Government books to anyone who could have such good luck. I, Joe McDaniel, have nothing to will. I, Wanda McFarling, will my Football Crown to Marilyn Hafele. Take good care of it, Marilyn. I, Dickie Meador, will my position on the football team to Lee Roy Rhodes. I, Jimmy Milburn, will my nickname, Silent to Pepsi Paulin. It fits him perfectly. I, Charlie Moore, will my ability to get one girl (and keep her) to Norman Lain. Sic'em boy! I, Norman Nugent, will my job at Snyder’s to Jimmy Powers. Watch'em Jim! I, Wanda Payne, will my shortness to Theresa Payne. Take good care of it, Theresa, it has helped me a lot. I, Dena Mae Petrie, will my place as the first engaged girl in the senior class to Mary Daisy Sinclair. Good luck, Daisy. I, Raymond Raley, will my funny looks to Denny Hay. I, Squirt Rutherford, will my catching ability to Charles Ell. I, Allen Jack Schraner, will my seat in government class to Eric Whitehead. I, Linus Wild Bill Schraner, will my wavy hair to Denny Ramsey. I think he will take good care of it during basketball season. I, Norman Schroeder, will my bass horn to Billy Piercy Northenor. I, Ramona Seibert, will my accordian playing ability to Hilbert Seibert. I, David Shores, will my nickname, Brute , to Willie Downs. I think its a purty name, myself. I, Le Roy Shore, will my way with the women to Robert Harpe. Keep up the good work. I, Jim Swede” Steinsberger, will my short stubby hair to Stephen Hay. Don't ever let it grow out long, Steve. I, Russell Stith, will my clarinet to David Adams. Practice hard. I, Augusta Walls, will the basketball crown, that was willed to me in '51 to Dee Dee Zellers. Keep it going. Dee Dee.
