On the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Armistice Day, and Decoration Day you will always see them on parade. In fact, any time the community calls they willingly respond. They have been on the air several times. During the presidential election, just past, the band played for both major parties on several occasions. Their trips for this work took them to Evansville, Tell City and Hawesville. They were paid well. The organization is the district champion Class C band. They have enjoyed this honor for three consecutive years. They participate in the state contest and always win honors in some department. Don Marketto is the director and is very popular among his students. [ 26 ]
