1984 Dedication The 1984 Kanistean staff is proud to dedicate this yearbook to Mr. Joseph Pacanowski. As an only child, Joseph Pacanowski was bom on December 20, 1952 in Williamsville, New York where his parents still reside. Joe graduated from St. John Neumann High School in 1970 when he went to St. John Fisher to receive his B.A. in secondary education in 1974. Upon receiving his Master’s Degree in 1976 from Alfred University, Joe moved to Canisteo to teach 10th grade English in 1976. With the retirement of Mr. Lamb, Joe took on English 11 in 1980, and in 1983 he had part of 1984’s graduating class teaching British Literature. Joe has always been an active member in school activities. Coach Pacanowski headed the J.V. basketball team during the 1975-76 season. and three years later, moved up to varsity coach during the 1981-82 season, leading our Redskins team to many victories. This year Joe decided to tackle a different kind of coaching job, football. Despite a winless season, Joe’s enthusiasm and desire for his team to win was always present. Joe has many hobbies besides coaching. These include hunting, reading, and playing poker. Joe is known throughout the halls of C.C.S. as ”PAC or “the polish pac man”. Joe now resides on Third Street with his wife Patti, and children Brianne, Brett and Stacy. It is with great respect and admiration that the staff of the 1984 Kanistean presents this dedication to Joseph Pacanowski; teacher, coach, and friend.
