Sing the glory that is her today. The triumph of might against might Tells which color wins the fight. Oh, long may her great emblem wave ‘Tis the symbol of the staunch, the true, the brave The Red and the White may they wave Victorious, Victorious, o'er us forever. Though far o'er this world we may stray We shall never forget old C.A. The scenes that today we hold dear Shall come back to us through the years. Rogers, J. Yoder, S. Young, S. Dennis, B. Schnurle, J. Reynolds. CLASS POEM Twas only a dozen years ago We first stole a glance at our school, We entered with wonder Hoping not to blunder And tried to appear calm and cool. As the days rolled on into many weeks We began to realize our goal. Our first was to read Our second to write With many other things to fill our soul. We worked hard but had entertainment too, Which we enjoyed to much extent. Ball we did play Movies we did see And practiced being lady and gent. By the time we had reached our fifth and sixth grade Quite grown up we did seem. A party or two here, A dance or two there, Oh, a great future we certainly did dream. By the time seventh and eighth came along our way We began to settle down a little. Homework was increased, Responsibility heavy A mark on our lives we'd begun to whittle. Eighth grades regents soon came hopping along. Which most of us passed with cheer. The turning point had come And we started to run In the direction of our Freshman year. That year was spent in careful planning To earn money we knew we should save. Skating parties were held And candy was sold To start the long road we must pave. We happily remember our Sophomore year Where we spent our time at the games. Selling candy and pop Potato chips and gum To lines as long as trains, Also, we'll never be able to forget The night of our Sophomore Hop. My-Oh-My how it did snow All day and all night And we suffered an inevitable flop. In our Junior year we tried harder than ever To make our year a success. We had cards to sell And stationery too, Our treasury we'd begun to fatten and dress. Along in the middle of October We had our Harvest Moon Dance , The crowd seemed large. The people were gay As around and around the floor they did prance. And now we have reached our Senior. year The most important to us all. The years have fled The time seems short Soon all of us the world will call. We started early with the magazine sale Soon to be followed by our play. My Friend Irma , Upset by the flu, Had to be postponed to another day. Another big event which started quite early Was our yearbook and all its work. Many nights we did stay, But rewards it will pay When always in our minds it will lurk. We are now looking forward to our Senior Ball And most important, Our Washington Trip. Our days will be gay As spring comes our way Then along we will go with a zip. Sneaking up on us is our night of graduation When good-by we must say to our friends. Hello we'll greet the world To you we've been hurled But we'll never forget C.C.S. and its trends.
