Barnard DEDICATED PAR E NTS CLASS POEM As the clock ticks out the years of time Sit back, and heed this gentle rhyme. Into our Past first let us gaze. Education really pays. When we started kindergarten Many, many years ago. We thought school was never-ending; We thought Time was very slow. But then our grammar school was over. Junior High was here and gone. High School days have nearly ended We've increased in brain and brawn. Games and dances, plays and trips All now fade into the Past. They've been fun but passed so quickly. Graduation's here at last. So we're Seniors! Now all hear! Into the Future let us peer! Just what does the Future hold? Listen now and all behold! A President may be among us, Possible a judge or teacher, lawyers, dentists, nurses, salesmen. All to help our fellow-creature. Some will join our great Armed Forces, Others still will wait at home. We shall strive to be of service Whene'er and where'er we roam. And now we bid a fond adieu To C.C.S. and all her pleasure. We say farewell to all of you. Your memories we’ll always treasure. Floyd was 12 years old and a member of Mrs. Maginley’s fifth grade, where he was an all round student and showed much interest in art. Despite a handicap caused by polio which he had suffered a year ago he continued to be active in the sports he so much enjoyed. He had recently joined the Boy Scouts. He was a member of the Hallettsville'Sunday School where he took much interest in his class and had perfect attendance. Floyd was well liked by all of his classmates and other students of the school.
