CLASS HISTORY After many wonderful experiences in Junior High School, the class of 'SO reached the promised land of high school. The great room called the study hall was to be our home for the year nineteen hundred and forty six This was to be the starting oint of our glorious trip through the phrase nthe best years of our lives On the shoulders of lr Brush was placed of steering our flrst course Operation Graduation That wonderful first year was an experience that we shall all Laws of the school said that we could talk to seniors, enter in school activities, read in the high school library and in all enjoy vhen we found the time Actually there were a few things we did not supposed to do such as running in the halls, wrestling in study hall, skipping classes, making noise in assemblies, chewing gum in math class and talking back to the teachers We learned not to do this after a few hours on detention We got down to brass tacks after a few weeks and elected our class off icers Howard Richardson, President, John Humphrey, Vice President, Barbara Ieyer, Secrftary, Dick Porter, Treasurer These people led us first into the alm of nOperation Graduation One of the first activities was our hay ride which everyone enjoyed to tee letter Many parties were held during the year and we closed our first year with flying colors When we left our first year, a few d1dn't go on with us to our next assignment, which was the sophomore year Ve could just see the horizon of our senior year, but it still was a long way off To those who are not with the task remember all high ourselves and were A s vs Q f XWXQ 1,ll llQ!,s, , .J' I . rqosu l fz us, we the class of '50 wish them luck in whatever they might be doing X X Miss Klos and Mrs Parson commanded our sophomore year with a great vision of things to come Outside of our studies we found time to have the sophomore Hop, a tradition of the school To the music of the Log Cabin Boys a great evening was had by all The gym was decorated to resemble barnyard with chickens, horses, cows, all over the place Our finances were Hood and we termed this event nOperation Sophomore Hop Successful That year officers elected were Howard Richardson, President, Keith Ker nan, Vice President, William Nestbrook, Secretary fnow in the U S Navyl, Dick 1 rter, Treasurer Now we looked ahead to the next year which in every student's life is when you reach this high JUNIORS We had survived kill 'Operation Gra u nest exciting of all classes You olnnacle of life, so the Fresh say last year's grueling battle and were ation was just a year away Can we We im ediately elected officers are something Yes, we were ready for the make it? for the journey and they were Howard Yichardson, President, Suzanne Miller, Vice President, John LaCelle, Secre tary, and Barbara Heyer, Treasurer Almost at once we laid the foundation for the annual Junior Prom The class worked hard to decorate the gym for the occasion It represented an under water scene with fish dashing in and out, the lignts covered with oaoer to get the effect of deep sea atmosphere, the band stand looked very nice also Music was furnished by Andy Grillo and his orchestra and every one went away with a glad heart and a feeling of fellowship for all le voted 'Operation Deep Sea Outstanding Everything turned out fine except that Howie Richardson and John Humphrey smashed into each other with their fathers' cars and almost broke the bank I think everyone connected survived Nhat will happen at the SENIOR BALL? With Mrs LaValle and Mr. Lancione guiding and sharing our fun, we con t1nued on our merry way Then came our first crack at the stage with the smash hit HA Date with udy Everyone said that this was certainly a lot of fun wltn rehearsals, liss Hic s' directing hand and just the joy of pleasing all who saw the oroducti n Can we ever forget? The last time we leave our school we must stop to thank all who have made possible this operation. We must never forget. Their planning and teaching has been given to us in the best way possible.
