CLASSES Seventh Grade Presidents: Mr. Yaxley's homeromm - Lois Bardeen Mr. Salisburv's homeroom - Jerry Vanderhoef Miss Carter's homeroom - Arlene Preston Eight Grade Presidents: Mr. Roach's homeroom - Edith Salisbury Mr. Silberman's homeroom - William Condon Freshman Officers: President - Jay Abbott Vice-President - Donald Merring Secretary - Gloria Allen Treasurer - John Schnurle Sophomore Officers: President Harold Waufle Vice president Richards Shorts Secretary John Benson Treasurer Sydney Parks Junior Officers President Pat Revnolds Vice President Tom Allen Secretary Elaine Russell Treasurer Janet Atkins It is now becoming the style for most schools to include the seventh and eighth grades in a separate division known as the junior high school. This classification is used here in our school. The representatives of this group attend Student Senate meetings to become acquainted in high school affairs. Their main activities consist of class parties which are held sometime during the year. The freshman class is composed of about seventy ambitious students. Their main activities, this year, consisted of a pancake sunper and a freshman party both of which were very successful. Their main duty is to keep the halls clean of papers. The sophomore class consists of fifty- two industrious workers. The principle activity of the year is the annual Soph Hop It is usually a round and square dance, which reaps quite a net profit to be added to the treasury The dutv of the Sophomores is quite new this vear They constitute the new group known as the hall monitors With their aid the traffic in the corridors is kept well under control Upperclassmen at last' The juniors this year, number about fifty four Their activities are many The first project was the Junior Prom The theme of this gala event was 'Alice in Wonder land W The evening was a huge success and enjoyed by all The next under taking was the selling of stationary with competition between the two homerooms Because of a grand splurge on the final dav, Mr Longley's room proved to be the victors Thev were treated to a party by Mrs LaValle'a room MQGQZlNI-I CQHPMGN With an uproarious and turbulent beginning the Seniors started off their hot and stiff competition on the selling of magazine subscriptions The class was equally divided into two groups which were immediately having heated discussions as to which team would win The prize for the winning team was a party to be thrown by the team that went down to defeat It was to be financed entirely by the team that came out on the bottom of the pile After a tough battle and ten days on increased arguments and compet1t1on, the blue team under the leadership of Capt Marvin Davis walked off with the contest It was now up to the Red team, under Capt Jean Bossard, to finance and throw a party worthy of the victors The Red team promptly was assessed the amount needed for the party, which was held in the Home Economics Room Various members of both teams were present, and chaperoned by Miss Ruth Hicks, Mr Antonio Lancione and Mr Soesph Neuhauser Refreshments were presented and greeted eagerly and enthusiastically by both teams after the playing of various games by some and dancing by many 47 6374.1 J 09 15145 W if offices nc!! 9 Ssmvls MARU 5 90 , 9 . , 0 I , 0 , J I . . . - LI U ' . 4 - .
