MR. JOHN F. BARNES 1931 CANISIUS 1956 For twenty-five years, johnny Barnes has been associated with Canisius High School as a physical training instructor, and coach of football, basketball, and baseball. During this span the athletic fortunes of Canisius have reached unparalleled heights as our numerous championship trophies attest. Yet through the years, in victory and defeat, in the blistering sun and the driving rain, on Washington Street and on Delaware Avenue, this smiling gentleman from Louisiana has built for himself and for Canisius a monument beside which all our trophies and medals pale into insignificance. For Johnny's perfect blend of unfathomable knowledge, strict discipline, sincere understanding, competitive spirit, and keen sense of humor has produced a whole generation of Canisius men who constantly reflect credit on their Alma Mater and on their beloved coach. Congratulations on your Silver Anniversary, Johnny, and may we have the privilege and pleasure of your masterful guidance for many years to come. Mr. C. V.
