0the ln the duration ol: this all too short senior year, we have been liavored with the opportunity to come in close contact with a real man, in every sense ot the vvord. A man, blessed with that rare quality of a deep insight into his icellovv men. It is this rare quality which leads to many ol: the other remarkable characteristics that we have admired in him. l-lis calm serenity and his placid disposition in time of provoking incidents have led us to seelc his orifice not merely as a haven in time of dihciculty at school, but as a council chamber where vve receive solace, consolation and sound advice in regard to college, vocation or any problem which might comcront the youth about to leave high school. l-le has been more than a Principal to us. l-le has been a Father, priest, counsellor . . . a Friend in need, ready at all times to grant any request within his means. Therefore, it is with the greatest respect that we pay humble tribute to the l2everend Lorenzo K. l2eed, S. J., by dedicating this, ourYear Boolc, to him whom We shall always remember and consider as a true Friend. REVEREND

FOREWORD It was just tour hundred years ago that a soldier priest of God and a small band ol: his companions set their hand to a task ol: momentous consequence, the Founding of the Jesuit Order. It is doubtful whether, this servant of God could have envisaged the liar reaching consequences of his act, when he welded that one part tool, too simple to be broken down, that key which would prove an iQpen Sesame to men's hearts and send Xaviers icathoming and probing liar distant lands in a quest For God's 'il-loly Grail , new souls. Perhaps, it was such a quest that led to the Foundation ot the Canisius school that we know, the Canisius that today celebrates its sixty-eighth anniversary with the graduation ol: seventy-eight Catholic gentlemen, prepared by an established educational system to cope with the complexities ot a modern world. This Year Book is the story ol: the Class ol: IQLLO, this is our Final inventory ol: Four years of ehCort,o1c problems mastered, ol: difficulties overcome, ol: lite-long Friendships established, of a dililiicult task well done. So with a proliound sense ol: gratitude to Saint lgnatius and his American Followers, who For sixtyQeight years have labored unceasingly to implant Catholic ldeals in Catholic Youth, we present our Year Book.
