Wiese and Roesch inspect new trophies Qi It is the task of the Gold Key Club to greet the visitin basketball teams who compete against Canisius, t officiate at Cross Country and track meets and to co duct the Moving Up Day Festivities. This year in add tion to its regular duties, the Club played a major rol in making the first Annual Queen City Basketba tournament a success. Meeting the competing basketball teams upon the arrival into Buffalo, escorting them around town, an arranging practices are all a part of the Gold Key' routine in spreading the good will and hospitality Canisius. ln this manner the club proves its worthine and value to the college.

Their home opener also proved successful as the Griff's crushed the Orange of Syracuse by 20 points, 88-68, as Henry Nowak hit for 22 markers to lead the home forces. The Cardinals of Louisville University were next in line to visit the Auditorium and found their northern sojourn profitable as they handed the Griffins their first defeat 84-77. ln their last game before the holiday season, during which time they would be the host in the Queen City Invitational Tournament, the Blue and Gold cagers downed Xavier University, 78-68. John McCarthy proved to be the thorn in the side as he split the silk for 20 points. After a highly successful tournament the Golden Domers took to the road once more, travelling to Ohio to encounter the Flyers of Dayton University. This trip
