This year in add tion to its regular duties, the Club played a major rol in making the first Annual Queen City Basketba tournament a success. Meeting the competing basketball teams upon the arrival into Buffalo, escorting them around town, an arranging practices are all a part of the Gold Key' routine in spreading the good will and hospitality Canisius. ln this manner the club proves its worthine and value to the college.

The Canisius College Glee Club entered its twenty-ninth season this year with the guidance of its new moderator, Father Joseph McEvoy, S.J. The group of nearly 100 students attended rehearsals on Tuesday evenings from September to April, per- fecting their musical ability under the exacting directions of Mr. Robert Schulz. Two full programs were prepared and pre- sented, one during the Christmas season and the other for the spring series. Mr. Roy Wilhelm is accompanist. The spirit of Christmas prevailed during November and December when the Club gave concerts in the greater Buffalo area at various Hospitals, Homes for the Aged, and Schools. The Canisius student body also enioyed a performance which was given in the Student Lounge. On December 8th in Klein- hans Music Hall, the singers ioined with those of D'Youville and Rosary Hill Colleges to present a program in honor of Our Lady at the close other Marian Year. ln the same hall the Christmas program was given for the families and friends of the Glee Clubmen on December l2th. Shortly after the new year opened, the group started to prepare for the Spring Concert which marks the climax of a distinguished musical season. Rehearsals, business meetings, organizing the procedure of ticket sales, and acquiring patrons are part of the increased tempo leading up to the big concert. With the evening of April 29th, reward for many sacrifices came to crown the year's activity for the Club. Kleinhans Music Hall glowed with the spirit of satisfaction as the large, appre- ciative audience applauded after each selection. Two ioint concerts the next week with Mercyhurst College, one in Erie and one in Buffalo, fittingly rounded out the season. 75 Tuesday Night Rehearsal Christmas concert in the lounge First Row: E.
