Commission of the N.F.C.C.5. and the Presidency of the Annual Model U.N. for the second consecutive year. . Myers gets a lesson in parliamentary procedure. A new activity on campus this year, the Loyola Political Acad- emy, was organized through the efforts and ingenious adver- tising campaign of one student, John Myers. The purpose of the Academy is to create a deeper understanding of govern- ment and the two-party system on the local, state, and federal levels. The members are students 'From Canisius, D'Youville, and Rosary Hill Colleges. The meetings, held tri-weekly, feature guest lecturers brought from the political or governmental field. The philosophical look. What is Man? as seen in the diverse views of philosophers from Plato to Jean Paul Sarte, has been the study program this year for the Aquinas Academy, the College honor philosophy group. Meeting every Thursday evening, Academy members with the aid of their moderator, Father J. Clayton Murray, S.J., have discussed and evaluated this question in the light of Scholastic Philosophy. At these weekly sessions a member prepares and reads a paper outlining the particular weltanschauung of a philosopher. Then, the other members of the organization ana- lyze and give a critique of the paper and the views reflected in it. Honors in Philosophy at graduation is accorded members who maintain a high scholastic standing and who write an ad- ditional paper on a topic approved by the moderator. aqulna a acl my First Row: D.
