N.F.'s delegates, Tim Sheehan and Layton Waters Canisius College is attiliated with two national organi- zations with allied purposes, the National Students Association and the National Federation of Catholic College Students. The goal of both organizations is to exchange information regarding student govern- ment and co-curricular activities. The N.F.C.C.S., under the moderatorship of Father Frederic Rothlauf, S.J., seeks to further the common interests of Catholic colleges in addition to retaining the Christian outlook on all problems. Representing the College are Layton Waters, Regional Treasurer, and Tim Sheehan, Regional Forensic Chairman. N.S.A. has been active in furthering the public's understanding of college problems and international cooperation on the part of students. Father Paul Gampp, S.J. is the moderator of the Canisius Chapter and Bill Holcomb the Senior Delegate to the Western New York Regional Council. During the Summer both organizations sponsor travel programs to Europe at reduced rates. N.S.A. held an excursion to Bermuda during the Easter vaca- tion which was well attended by Canisius students. Council takes in student convocation The Student Council has the responsible role of inte- grating all campus activities to ensure that the educa- tional purposesof the Administration are appreciated and understood by the students. Thus the activities of both the faculty and the student body are brought in to harmony and the name of Canisius receives its full- est meaning. This year student government reached unparalleled success and spirit with the reorganization of the Stu- dent Council. The Council devised a system of repre- sentatives in which the voice of each student could be heard. Students with similar interests and obiectives formed a' basic group. Representatives were choseff by these basic groups who were to serve as their councilmen at the Council's bi-weekly meeting! Under the able direction of Joe Crangle, President of the Council, various committees were established to Pondering over Council problem aid the smooth function of extra-curricular activities and social aFFairs which were held by the college. Last Fall, the Council supervised Freshmen orientation and formecl an Out of Towners Club to make the new members of the College feel at home. The Big Three from the Little Three
