CARDI AL Trying to fit 24 lines of type on only 19 lines is just one of the problems Cardinal co-editors Karen Koning and Carole Shirreffs pondered. Mrs. Charlotte Flesher and Miss Mary Ann Frederick, advisors, aided the newspaper staff with dilemmas. Nancy Knuth and Kathryn Wfilliams assisted the editors. The 6-page Cardinal contains articles ranging from school events to chatter. Its staff also includes a business manager, inimeographers, artists, typists and last but not least, the backbone of any paper, reporters. TRI-HI-Y Pure thoughts, pure words, pure deeds is the creed which junior and senior Tri-Hi-Y members follow. Tri-Hi-Y activities include monthly visits with the retarded children, morning devotions. planning the Easter Assembly, spon- soring a semi-formal dance and also sock hops. and trading jingle bells at Christmas time. Selling pop corn at basketball' games and collecting items for Red Cross round out another year of service, devotion, and fellowship. Tri-Hi-Y girlg give mother nature a hand as they decorate the old gym for the fall dance. Harvest Moon. Realizing that a club cannot succeed without a strong member- ' ship these Hi-Y and Tri-Hi-Y officers begin their term of oftice by inducting the nexv members.
