At the end of the regular season, the Trojans were ranked eighth in the state poll for Class A” teams. We are definitely proud of this team that has united our school to one that is truly Caney Valley. These young men's determina- tion, under head coach Robert Holman and coaches Lester Fink and Wendell Fletcher, has truly inspired us to have pride in our school by converting the past years' losing tradition to a winning one. The game of life ... is not whether you win or lose, it’s whether you make it to the final buzzer! Love comes to the young but never grows old. Philip Arenz Sheilah Elaine Coil Vickie Lou Baker Carol Sue Billbe Debbi Lynn Collings Debra Ann Cranor The men who try to do some- thing and fail are infinitely bet- ter than those who try to do nothing and succeed. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. My life is in the hands of any fool who makes me lose my temper. 84 SENIORS SENIORS Pay no attention to what the critics say. A statue has never been erected in honor of a critic. Love is sharing all your dreams. Happiness is seeing them come true. All that is now All that is gone All that’s to come And everything under the sun is in tune But the sun is eclipsed By the moon David E. Boyer Rhonda Marguerite Brinlee Gregory Leon Brown The love in your heart wasn’t put to stay. Love isn’t love till you give it away. Dynamite comes in small pack- ages. Bait the hook well; this fish will bite. SENIORS 85 You own a dog; you feed a cat. Kelly Jo Davenport Be patient and you will eventu- ally win. Christopher E. Dizmang Better to live in the desert than with a quarrelsome complaining woman. Robert Ray Evans SENIORS SENIORS Bryan Leroy Gardner By the time a person gets to greener pastures, he can’t climb the fence. Timothy Kent Gardner Sometimes the best helping hand you can get is a good, firm push. Michael Dean Geisler Temper, if ungoverned, governs the whole man. SENIORS These moments may seem tem- porary but the memories last forever. Compromise is simply changing the question to fit the answer. They say he was once seen studying. Patti Lynne Forbes Gena Leeann Gougler In growing, we have shared. In learning, we have found friend- ship. Chris W. Foster Joe W. Gleason I’m satisfied with myself so why worry. Miles Michael Frisbee Deborah Rochelle Grubb The whole worth of a kind deed lies in the love that inspires it. SENIORS 87 SENIORS Well, I’m just the kind of person that reaches for the moon ... but if I only get halfway I guess that’s O.K. too. Terri Kae Hardiman Paul K. Johnson II While there is life there is hope. Everyone is a fool for at least five minutes everyday. Roddy Dean Hartsock Billie DeAnn King A conscience doesn't always keep us from doing something, it just keeps us from enjoying it! Nothing in this world is free so go ahead and grab it! Lynne Annette Hawkins Kurt Henry King Praise: Something a person tells you about yourself that you suspected all along. 88 SENIORS SENIORS Do you know I am a woman? When I think, I must speak. The only thing most people do better than anyone else is read their own handwriting. There is a history in all men’s lives. Stacy Hayes I J Tony Liston Narrow escapes? I’ve had mine. Gary D. Hubble Daniel R. Malcolm If hard work is the key to suc- cess, most people would rather pick the lock. Cheryl Jackson Terisa May McGonigal The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up. SENIORS 89 SENIORS A wise man doesn't display his knowledge but a fool displays his foolishness. All hell shall stir for this. Two things only a man cannot hide: That he is drunk and that he is in love. Scott Miles Ted DeWayne Murphy Jamie Walker O’Dell Kay Lynne Sheetz Robert J. Rutherford Kenneth Wayne Seabolt For long you live, and High you fly, but only if you ride the tide and balanced on the biggest wave, you race towards your early grave. Let us make a honorable retreat. To reach for the future you must first let go of the past. 90 SENIORS SENIORS If life were a bed of roses, some people wouldn’t be happy until they developed an allergy. The real tragedy of life is not in being limited to one talent but in failure to use that one talent. Live hard and die with my boots on. All that is gold does not glitter; not all those that wander are lost. Some folks make you feel at home. Others make you wish you were. We are all stars, we just shine in different ways. SENIORS 91 SENIORS SENIORS It is not doing the thing we like to do, but liking the thing we have to do, that makes life blessed. As long as I don’t talk, you don’t know what I'm thinking. You only live once, but if you work it right, once is enough. Janette Lynn Stevenson Lesa Kaye Taylor Lisa Jo Wright Stacey Lynn Willcox Edwin Lincoln Trottingwolf III Alan Wise When I close the door on reality, Your own soul is nourished it comes in through the window, when you are kind; it is destroyed when you are cruel. Give me the benefit of your con- victions, if you have any; but keep your doubts to yourself, for I have enough of my own. 92 SENIORS SENIORS SENIORS Don’t meet trouble halfway. It is quite capable of making the entire journey. Gary Lee Turner A man apt to promise, is apt to forget. Michael Andrew ’’Bronc” Ward Do your thing, but don’t get caught. Walter Birdell Ward All our lives we have lived for the year that we would be Seniors. Certainly, this year has been great. We have been freer to do what we want, and most of us have reached that magic age of 18. But, nobody told us about the end of the year when we say goodbye to the friends we have had around us for 12 years, when those we love go off to new lives of their own and leave us standing alone with red eyes and tear-stained cheeks. But, we are adults; we have to push on, make new friends, and let our high school days blur into happy memories; memories of pep assemblies, of the cheers at football games, of the crowded halls with snatches of conversation between classes, of the movies, and of those Saturday night parties. Our friends whom we have laughed with and cried with become far-away voices at the end of tele- phone lines and signatures at the bottom of letters.
