The assistant librarian for two years ,was Dorothy. She was typist on the Kane Kan staff and a member of the Glee Club. The Glee Club had among its members Aleen. - Q Junior G.--I want what I want, when I want it. Harold--No one knows what he can do un til he tries. Margaret B.--Shy like the modest violet, she appears. q Mal? E. was pianist in the Orchestra, a Glee Club member and was on the Nake- nak staff. Herschel--Whenever there is work to be done, he will do it. Zetta--Speech is great but silence is greater. Shirley was a member of the Pepperettes, Playmakers and Glee Club. Peppy Rozanna was a Cheer Leader, Play- maker, on the Nakenak staff, and in the Band, Playmaker and Junior plays. She also sang in the Glee Club. Quiet and studious Dorine. She has been a member of the Girl's Glee Club. Page 15

Keck was also a member of the Nakenak staff, and a star football and basketball player. Irene was a member of the Band, Orches- tra, Playmakers and was on the Nakenak and Kane Kan staffs. Eileen was senior queen at the school carnival. 'Butch' was a football and basketball player, a member of the Band, Play- makers, Boy's Glee Club, on the Nakenak staff and in the Junior play. Being talented in music Edward B. has been a member of the Band, Orchestra, attended music contest as a clarinet soloist. He was in the Junior and Play- maker plays and on the Nakenak staff. Beulah was a Band,Orchestra, Pepperette, Playmaker and Glee Club member. Clara Mae was a member of the Glee Club, Pepperettes and Playmaker organizations, Nakenak and Kane Kan staffs and a class officer. Edward--Oh! Why should life be all labor. Marvin--The only dates he ever made were with Aleen. q s Alma was a Pepperette and a member of the Nakenak staff. Frances--My thoughts are my companions. John contributed his share to the music of the High School Orchestra.

They were under the leadership of George Long, assisted by Marjo oulanger, and Mary Edith Harkness keeping the class records. They were spons ed by Miss Lelia Hemphill and Miss Amne Ber er. The class was represented in all the various outside activities. Marj Boulanger received the first prize in the American Legion Essay contest. Elo se Boles was the Sophomore nominee for the Carnival Queen. One of the minor activities was a Major Bowes Amateur Hour which was pre- sented as a Chapel program. On September 5, 1957, forty-five members were enrolled as Juniors under the leadership of Martha Young assisted by Betty Louise Riggs, and Mary Edith Hark- ness keeplng the class records. The Funiors sponsored the first all school dance of the fall in the gymnase ium. K Eloise Boles won the Queen contest and was crowned as Queen of the Carnival Football, Basketball, Playmakers, Pepperettes, and Glee Club claimed many of the Junior Class. Now through the efforts and willingness of each one, they are striving to become Seniors and make the last stages of the journey successful. 14
