Graduation Salutatory V ale dic tory Graduation exercises for the Class of 1961 were held Friday, May 26, at 8 P.M. in the gymnasium. The hih school band played the processional, recessional, and March, by Holst. Speaker for the evening was Dr. Laurence S. Flaum, Dean of the College at Minot State Teachers College. His address was titled America at the Crossroads. Lois Garst gave the valedictory and Joan Houtcooper the salutatory. The recipient of the Roy and Mae Canfield scholarship was Lois Garst. The court sang America the Beautiful, and Climb Ev'ry Mountain. Rev. T, A. Rykken gave both the invocation and the benediction. 15

Services for the Graduates Services for the graduates were held Sunday evening, May 21, in the gymnasium. Mrs. Riggs Opland played the processional and recessional. Rev. J. G. Sortland of the Methodist Church was the speaker. The title of his sermon was The Right to Reign. The high school mixed chorus sang O Sing Unto the Lord a New Song, and Be Thou Not Still. 14

The Legislative Building Inside the Legislative building The Seniors left on their class trip to Winnipeg on Thursday, May 11. Friday and Saturday were spent touring various points of interest, including the Coca-Cola bottling plant, Canadian Packers, Winnipeg Tribune, CBW TV- Radio Station, the Legislative Building, and St. Boniface Cathedral.
