Sortland of the Methodist Church was the speaker. The title of his sermon was The Right to Reign. The high school mixed chorus sang O Sing Unto the Lord a New Song, and Be Thou Not Still. 14

Graduation Salutatory V ale dic tory Graduation exercises for the Class of 1961 were held Friday, May 26, at 8 P.M. in the gymnasium. The hih school band played the processional, recessional, and March, by Holst. Speaker for the evening was Dr. Laurence S. Flaum, Dean of the College at Minot State Teachers College. His address was titled America at the Crossroads. Lois Garst gave the valedictory and Joan Houtcooper the salutatory. The recipient of the Roy and Mae Canfield scholarship was Lois Garst. The court sang America the Beautiful, and Climb Ev'ry Mountain. Rev. T, A. Rykken gave both the invocation and the benediction. 15
