We held special fund raisers for a year in order to raise enough money for our trip to Florida. We left at 6 a.m. April 17 and arrived in Florida some 36 hours later. While in Florida we playeo three times. The first time was Tuesday morning at the University of Central Florida. After olaying we toured NASA Space Center and then spent the rest of the day at Cocoa Beach. Wednesday we spent the whole day at Disney World. Thursday was our last day there. We spent the morning packing and then it was off to Water Mania where we played in our swimsuits. We spent the afternoon there playing volleyball on the beach; swimming in the wave pool; going down the water slides and just plain enjoying the sun! That night we went to Old Town where we performed one last time before departing. We arrived back in Canby and to snow on Saturday. We had a great time! Dwight Zahnow, Shawn Zinter, Erik Dybsetter, Neal Devos. Nathan Ufkin. When you think of Canby. you think of wrestling. Why, because we have such an unbeatable reputation, which is great. But when you do this, you overlook many other fine things. And one of those is Canby High School Choir Program. Even before Canby was such a Power House in wrestling, Canby's choir was going strong and taking awards for being such a great choir. To give credit to great singers every year wouldn't be right. Someone has to shape these singers into an award winning choir every year. That person is overlooked a lot and he shouldn't be. He has to put up with coming in early, to singing with half a choir every other day, to singing with just 5 boys. And even with all these inconveniences he's made do miraculously. I mean have you ever heard a Canby senior choir that you didn't like? And this year's choir was no exception. I think because Mr. Reesnes is such a stubborn, hard working, patient, perfectionist of a man, he's made our choir into a proud organization. I hope I can give him some credit where credit's due and show my appreciation for having him as a teacher. P.S. Thanks for the new uniforms. —Marcus Padilla 16
