Homecoming week will be a week that 1 will always cherish. It started off with choosing the fifteen lucky girls, then the seven. Dress up days got everyone in the mood. Then that day came when we had to walk up the aisle trying not to be nervous. Kim Borowski, Mistress of ceremonies, outlined activities pertaining to each. We listened to a song by Rick DeBlois and heard from King Tom. The guys lined up and King John was crowned. Then we heard from Queen Grace, she gave her farewell speech. She then had us line up. The tension, suspense and excitement were greater than ever. She placed the robe on my shoulders! Joy, hap- piness , and disbelief filled me. After we were crowned 1978 Homecoming King and Queen, I was presented a dozen red roses from the Letterperson's Club and an autographed football from the team. The big football game was a victory. We defeated the Dawson Black- jack's 17-8. We ended our homecoming activities lis- tening and dancing to 1 'Rebel.'' This was ' 'quite a deal'' to me and I hope next years royalty will cherish their day like King John and I did. Queen Kaye Homecoming week was exciting for everyone. Dur- ing that week it was fun dressing up to the different themes. This week was also a hard week of practice for the football team. When Thursday came around, I began to get very nervous. I couldn't believe I was one of the seven fi- nalists . That night we all were on the stage and were listening to Queen Grace and King Tom say a few words. After that they called the guys up. The next thing 1 knew everyone was shaking my hand. After that they called the girls up and Queen Kaye was crowned. On Friday, we faced a tough Dawson team, but we came through 17-8. We celebrated with a victory dance after the game and everything was fantastic. I would like to thank everyone and hope the future classes have as much fun as 1 have had. King John 19
