Hutchcraft, Stage Manager, helped the audi- ence understand the play with his narrations. Our Town” is a three act play dealing with the lives of the people in a small New England village. With the use of a stage manager, Thornton Wilder was able to tie to- gether the lives of a certain period. The play, dealing with a life such as our own, provided an entertaining evening. The back stage crew played an important part in the play's success. Members were: ROW 2: Miss Sundin, Di- rector; S. Benson, Student Director; K. Barck, Lights; J. Meyen, Make-up; N. Denekamp, Make-up; J. Christian- son, Sound; Miss Kelly, Technical Director. ROW 1: S. Fitzpatrick, Usherette; J. Olson, Make-up; R. DeWit, Lights. D. Wicks, town drunk and choir director, is shown directing members of his Thursday night choir.

The cast of the One Act Play included D. Hutch- craft, (Miss Kelly, director), Mary Erp, Joe Lux. SEATED is Mary Severson. After the murder of his pupil, the professor gets a scolding from his housekeeper. “The Under the direction of Miss Kelly, the one-act pfay received a superior rating in the District 9 competition. The play, The Lesson , was a short comedy about a professor, his pupil, and the professor's housekeeper. The play presented a new and different ap- proach to student-teacher relationships, Lesson” with the professor getting the last word. The professor was played by Dale Hutchcraft, the pupil portrayed by Mary Severson, and the part of the profes- sor’s housekeeper was played by Mary Erp. Getting ready for the performance is just as important a part of the play as knowing the lines and the action of the play. Shown here, the eve- ning the performance was given to the Speech classes, Miss Kelly ap- plied part of the make-up required by Mary Erp's part. Watching was Mary Severson, while Dale Hutch- craft added the finishing touches to his costume.

All-School Play Is A Success Every picnic has to have its highpoint. The highpoint of this Founder's Day picnic would have to be the pie eating contest.
