A vocal selection was provided by Dan Kelly, Paul Evanson, and Norman Larsen. Evening In Paris” The long awaited, dream-like evening, May 6th, started in the Elementary school cafetorium, decorated in a Parisian motiff. After introduc- tions by Dave Dybsetter, the master of cere- monies, Elroy Quenroe and Craig Zinter gave short addresses. Following the meal of turkey prepared by the Junior mothers and served by the Sophomores, Sharon Hayek and Vicki Sigurdson gave short talks. The entertainment consisted of vocal selec- tions by a boy's trio and vocal and guitar selec- tions by Judy Abel. Following the entertainment the guest speaker, Mr. Warren Andert, gave his remarks, and Mr. Donald Peterson gave the clos- ing. Moving to the high school gym the Prom goers found the Evening in Paris theme recreated through the use of a sidewalk cafe, painter and art gallery, flower garden, and an Eiffel Tower. The evening was officially started at 9:15 when the Starliners provided the music for the Grand March. After the Prom a special show, after-show buffet, and bowling were sponsored by the Women's Club. Tiie Sophomores, dressed to fit the Parisian motiff, served the dinner to the people present at the Jr. - Sr. Banquet. 24

The One-Act Play entitled The Undercurrent was chosen as runner- up in the District 9 One Act Play Con test. The cast includes: Miss Greuhl, director, holding the trophy; Bob Winkels, Pa Fishyer; Judy Abel, Ma Fishyer; Larry Grong, Emil Fishyer; Sue Ingvalson, Annie Fishyer ; Jane Thovson, Miss Floyd; Lori Melrose, Miss Page. Pa explodes in a rage when he finds out that Annie has been taken to court and hurls her and her mother on the floor. The Undercurrent” Ma brags about her two children, while Pa prefers to re- main silent. The Undercurrent is essentially a portrayal of a cypical evening in the Fishyer's apartment in New York City. Mrs. Fishyer is rather idealistic, and wants to hear only good about her child- ren, while Mr. Fishyer believes that MAN iss ruled vid de vhip! He be- comes irat when his meddlesome neigh- bor woman informs him that his daugh- ter, Annie, whom he has brought up so strict, has been arrested and taken to the morals court. However, Mr. Fish- yer's ranting subsides when a social worker who has been sent to check on Annie, and whom Mr. Fishyer trusts, offers to take Annie with her for a vacation in the country. Annie leaves, although her father has almost wrecked her life and happiness.
