Each girl in the royalty gave a pep-talk at the bonfire. Initiating the Homecoming spirit for 1966 were Orange-and-Blue Day and V-for-Victory Day. Enthusiasm was displayed by team members, queen candidates, and the student body at the bon- fire on Thursday night. Friday's activities were highlighted by the coronation in the afternoon. Suspense mounted as Jackie Thompson designated Linda Brogaard as queen for 1966. Team co-captains Bob Braucher and Dan Schalek then presented Queen Linda with a bouquet of roses. Half-time activities began with the marching band performing a routine. Following this Queen Linda and her royal court were presented to the fans while the marching band played Miss America. The Lancers demonstrated excellent team- work and maneuvers against Dawson. They defeated the Blackjacks by the way-out score of 58-14. Everyone was exuberant at the dance follow- ing the outstanding victory. Music was provided by the In-Mates. When the doors closed at 12:30, all agreed that Homecoming 1966 was one of the best ever. Senior team members appear- ed to be in high spirits and confident of victory.
