As the band played the processional. Queen Ramona Yackley, her attendents, Janice Hofland, Mary Arme Peterson, Marlene Sickels, Joan Thomsen, Stefani Monson, and Zelda Thompson, the flower girl, Glenda Giese, and the crown bearer, Lennae Mead, all marched to their respective places on and around the throne. They each were assisted up the steps by Roger Gubrud and Merle Kontz. After a few timely remarks on the comparison of todays and yesterdays students by John Qualley, the 1956 Queen, Shirley Anderson, crowned Ramona as the 1957 Homecoming Queen. In Queen Ramona's response she expressed her gratitude to the student body who made all this possible for me . The parade led by the band, began at 3 00 P. M. The first prize float was entered by the 8th grade with a theme of Apple-ton Welcomes Can-Bee. The senior class float, Space the Aces won the second prize. Third prize winner was the float the Poison Ivy League, entered by the sophomores. After the parade, the student body all returned to the school grounds where we had a pep fest. The Lancers defeated the Appleton Aces 1 7-6 in the game that night, after which a dance in the new gym climaxed a perfect day for everyone. Especially if you already had dates for the wonderful World s Fair to be held in your town. That is what happened to the Smith family. The children sit out to stop Mr. Smith from carrying out the move. They tried to make Mr. Dodge, Mr. Smith's boss, think their father was not capable of running the New York office. Their methods were to de-rail a trollycar, dropping bags of water on Mr. Dodge and Duffy and many other such pranks. Mr. Smith was fired because of the children. Rose had a fight with John Shepard. All in all the family was feeling very badly even though they got to see the World's Fair. When Mr. Dodge found out he couldn't get along without Mr. Smith at the office, he got his job back and everything turned out okay. 39 Row iit R. Beecher, S. Knutson, J. Jeremiason, R. Lipinski, L.
