Roberta Reiter, Barbara Olson, Carol Peterson, Irene Rack, Marilyn Mamer, Janice Lundvall, Paul Christianson, King Bob Sickels, Queen Carol Olson, Linda Hooker. ---- and the Dragons were drubbed as the Lancers defeated the Madison Dragons Li to 0. This Mas one of the outstanding features of the 1953 Homecoming on Friday, October 16. The coronation ceremony started at 2sl5 when Bob Sickels and Carol Olson were crowned King and Queen by Orv Hartsworm, vice president of the Student Council. The attendants were Marilyn Mamer, Janice Lundvall, Barbara Olson, Carol Peterson, Irene Rack, and Roberta Jean Reiter. Flower girl and crown bearer were Linda Hooker and Paul Christianson. A very effective coronation address was given by Rev. Bruce Rodrick. The only thing that dampened our Homecom'ng spirits was the rain which began at 3 o'clock. The band did not play but the floats and the rest of the parade continued. The first prize float tas the seniors with the slogan Dragon-Net Disaster . On the float a large dragon was caught in a net and a loud speaker poured out the popular Drag Net. The sophomore float won second prize with the slogan Damper the Dragons . The Freshman float won third with the slogan Trim th e Dragons . During the half at the game, the Queen's Float and the Prize winning floats were presented in front of the bleachers. The band gave their interpretation of Goldilocks and the Three Bears , The annual homecoming dance held in the little gym endad the 19 3 Homecoming festivities. 19

After seeing Our Miss Brooks, the Junior Class Play, and the problems of an English teacher you've probably changed your minds. It was a play with in a play with Miss Audubon and Miss Brooks competing for the directorship. Miss Brooks won but this only presented more difficulties. She didn'tgive Rhonda Allen,daughter of an influential board member, the leading part. Even though Miss Brooks had a soft spot for the coach, Mr. Longacre, she ended up by having a feud with him over the use of the gym forplay practice. After the discouragements of their love life Jane, the leading lady, (who is hopelessly in love with Ted) decided, along with Miss Brooks, to become an old maid. When the night of the play finally arrived Martin had an allack of appendictis. After much pursuasion Mr. Longacre decided to take Martin's part in the play. After this event Miss Brooks claimed being an English teacher was fun after allI
