Jack Kragness came from Por- ter with fistfuls of paper money to intrigue the girls with In the sixth grade six peo- ple begem studying band lessons under Mr Williamson. Our class was well represented in all of the grade operettas In the seventh grade we moved to the Junior Assembly, end the confusion of different teachers and periods Miss Probstfield was the Junior High Principal In the seventh grade, fourteen of our class entered B band, and many more in the 8th grade Beverly Aure and Chuck Rhea were the receivers of the American Legion 8th grade award Carol Lundring was absent this year, attending school in Colorado During this year a scrap drive was held, with students bringing in huge quantities of everything from bed- springs to tin cans The P.T A sponsored a successful fun-fest for all the grades An avalanch of new faces invaded our class in our Freshman year Merlin Cole and Marge Kaok were oo-editors of the Jr Hi Jinx For the first time our grade made a Homecoming float. Chuck Rhea was president of our grade that year In our 10th year we advanced to the second story and Miss Towey. Beverly Aure was .looted class president We used a 'horse and buggy'theme for our float Doreen Bockes was the new Sophomore cheerleader A Christmas Carnival was held this year, sponsored by the Student Council In our Junior year our class play, The Sunshine Twins, under the capable direction of Miss Moen, was very successful In the spring the Juniors were hosts to the Seniors at the annual Prom and Banquet with the theme being Rolling Down to Rio. The Red Jackets furnished the rtusio for the Prom During this year, the vocal groups of C H S walked off with top honors at the regional and state contests The top performers, the jftixed chorus received an A at the district and an A at the state Shirley Smith was president through- out our Junior year A successful football season began in our Senior year with the defeat of Clarkfield. Mavis Mohn was reigning queen at the Homecoming events, crowned by president Lloyd Nelson This year our football team captured top honors with the title of Chmpion of the Little Sioux District School dances were obtained this year, and proved to be a huge success The Swing Band played at several of these The Basketball team also took-honors at the District, winning over Marshall and Lynd. Herb Mikkelson and Chuck Rhea made the All-Dis- trict team and Herb topped the District record with 1011 points in his high school career The Music Festival at Marshall proved to be an enjoyable day for all the ohorus and band members who participated in it, along with the other schools of district nine. DIVINO CHRISTIANSON is working on the farm, being helped by GILBERT MAMER and DELMAR LINDBERG. They are to grow squashes in the shape of bananas BfiTTY df BETTYnGNIES and E A MAE D StZ are now in New York after attending a Radio and Television school Theyare determining television screens they can break by suddenly showing their faces. DIANE DELAURIER, after attending the University of Minnesota, has fi- nally realised her ambition and is now a model in the Sears-Roebuck catalog GLORIA DRENG- SON is now the secretary to the president of the International Farmers Co-op, BWOTMT GOR- SKI. She offers the -comment that it is a very interesting job. RAMONA DEVOS and RAMONA FHfo are keeping the patients interested in Kissimme Hospital, Minnesota. PUT EDWARDS is «till attending Macalaster College She just oan't seem to get through a certain course or is it that the teacher is handsome. VIVIAN FOX is now the President of the Canby Bank. Her assistants are DAROLENE REISER and DOkRENE GR£n'GS. KATHRYN KAMRATH and LORRAINE HALSTENSON are oarrying on the work of Sister Kenny in her Institute at Minneapolis. Mr. Stibal who is now president of a college, has two private secretaries—MARGIE JURANEK and ILENE SHEPHERD— who take up most of his time. CLAYTON PALM, alias Hot Rock1'' is hiding out as his farm for fear the cops might fine him. MERCEDES SEVERSON has now learned the Sleep Rules from LYLE LINDBERG and has passed the qualifications as a member with flying colors. RUTH ASHER and Bifl. al rF are in partnership. Bev. as the nurse, and Ruth as the undertaker ! DOREEN B0CK1?S is the flying cheerleader of Augustana College. How she does it no one knows, but she flies and cheerleads at the same time. MALVIN ZR Ft has been so greatly disappointed in Social life by Miss Towey, that he has retired into a peaceable farm life. SHIRLEY SMITH is playing professional basketball with the Oklahoma Red Heads ably assisted by .ftANfrllg F6SS and MARION JENSON. Having modeled, OZZY SORENSON is the president of the Texas Cotton Corporation. gtfcj NCE HALVORSON is waiting for a ride back to Texas j although JIM PRIDAL has tried hard to pass the qualifications. MARY VANCE KAs become the leading model in the Powers Model Agency—operated jointly by ARVlN jEPFESeN and WALTER HQHSH. ALFRED RADER has joined the Navy, to see if he can find his ancestors. WAVA NORD is one of the famous Hollywood dress designers. She is saving her money to buy a diamond-studded saddle for her horse, Tony. CHUCK RHEA is now the famous coach in Canby High, and is getting some added help from Wanda Amundson. LOWELL TILBURY is still busy finishing the work on his make-up slips. PATRICK MILLER and H EkB TFflVRSQN have just graduated from the State School for Traffic Cops. They hold the highest honors ever given. PELORIS LAABS is still trying to please Miss Towey by copying the American Observer word for word. ARDYCE HENTGES has now taken over her Dad’s cafe in Marshall, and has turned it into a nightclub with RAMONA RICHARDSON as the main at- traction. ILENE LARSON is Miss Moen's successor as English teaoher ! FRANCES RASSMUSSEN has developed her typing speed to 150 words a minute, even surpassing Miss Smith’s speed. ARLENE SALTEE is the teacher of the Burr Sohool. LEROY HEMISH just got a job in the pro- gram It Pays to be Ignorant, and is really raking in the dough. JAMES KILEY is the world's leading heavy, light-ereight title contender. The only obstacle is fcarvey Mount. MARJORIE RACK has taken over the brewery in Canby, in her father's stead. She is having a very good business too. CORKY NELSON is now running the Nelson Lumber Yard. He is making plenty of poker tables and trying them out before he sells them. HERB MIKKELSON has attended the Uni- versity of Minnesota as the all-star football and basketball player. Now, he is happily married to DOROTHY LANDSTROM, and rearing more basketball and football players. ROBERT HAN- SON has a 1,600 acre farm and has reoently invented the great Hanson feed oorn that makes pigs grow like corn. PAUL TATE is starting his career repairing water towers in Gary. Harry James is being pushed out of the spot-light by that maestro, JIM BORGESON, and his great Swing Band. A private recital was held by the twenty vocal students April 1. Preceded by weeks of float planning and skip- ping, the events began with a huge bonfire and pep fest October 3. The coronation ceremony took place the next afternoon, but the long-awaited parade was can- celled. CANBY 54 APPLETON 0 The Lancers had little difficulty in winning their sixth straight viotory at Appleton. The soore was 34-0. Appleton made no serious scoring threat and we were able to garner but one first team. CANBY 7 OLIVIA 7 The Canbyans played Olivia to a 7 to 7 tie, which proved to be a thriller from the start to finish. Past, hard charging, crisp tackling and clean play arkod the play throughout the came. Canby was completely outweighed in near- ly every position but made up for it in scrap and determination to keep their season's record unspetted. Jim Borgeson threw a short pass to Rhea who lateral- led to Lund for the touchdown.
