Q? - V We, the Senior class of '57 en- tered Canby High as mighty freshman, or so we thought. Our spirits dropped a little during initiation but soared again after the ordeal. Margrethe Gregersen, Wayne Rigsby, and Alan Brac- kett won prizes for their initia- tion costumes. Our president, Jerry Poole, moved shortly after election so Larry Peters, assisted by Luana Knox and Zoe Knapp, guided our class. We surprised everyone by taking first place in the Curtis Drive and our one-act play, Dates Incorporated, took ,31- IORS L. Peters, Pres., E. Zachow, Vice Pres., Z. Knapp Sec., P. Blum, Treas., P. Work:-nan, P. Crawford Student Council Representatives, L. Thagon, E Berglund, Athletic Managers, R. Oathes, Yell Lead- er, D. Campbell, Sergeant-at-Arms. third place. Karen Westerlund and Mary Fawver received an outstanding Freshman girl co-award. Luana Knox, escorted by Paul Pellatz, and Susan Iverson, escorted by Don Campbell, represented us on the May Court. During our Sophomore year our one-act play, A Young Man's Fancy, placed second and Alan Brackett was named best actor. Leading this year's class were Karen Wes- terlund, Don Campbell, Luana Knox, and Zoe Knapp. The highlight of the year, of course, was our biology trip to the coast. Patricia Baker, escorted by Karl Herkamp, and Barbara Thackery, escorted by Eldon Zachow were our May Court Princesses. Junior class officers were Larry Peters, Jim Cannell, Pat Baker, and Harry Riehle. Our main activities were our one-act play, A Night in the Country, our class play, Dear Ruth, and the J unior-Senior Prom. Bonnie Hulbert and Penny Workman, es- corted by Jerry Kyllo and Larry Peters, were our princesses on the May Court. We started out our Senior year by placing first in the March of Dimes drive. Larry Peters, Eldon Zachow, Zoe Knapp, and Pat Blum guided us through our last year. Our class play, The Curious Savage, and our one-act play, The Nautical Approach, proved to be quite successful. We were very fortunate to have as an exchange student, Elie Sakellaropoulos from Greece. Patricia Baker, escorted by Adin Hester, reigned as our May Court Queen and Marilyn Harms, escorted by Don Campbell, was our Crown Princess. Princesses were Karen Westerlund, escorted by Karl Herkamp, and Luana Knox, escorted by Paul Crawford. Graduation remained the foremost thought in our minds as we prepared to leave the halls of Canby High.
