Www ,-4 'Um r Class Play East Lynne .Seated Left to rmhf B Hmsen L Lunpau D Fredrmkson G Frnkes W Rollins S Hansen Siandxng Let to right lllrs blull Adusor B Poster R Gxger R lhornton D Stefani M blmpkms R Bernklqu G lng,1lls Make Up Txme CHRISTMAS SNO BALL Jo Ann Callahan Clmstmas Belle ,pix SHREMQ 9 17 r' like I Ir If ll' I f, Wddfdiq af 74a 65444 affgff N our rrunds the year 1951 was to show great changes The grade schools 1n our locahty would never be the same for we were leavmg, but the h1gh school had a great future ahead of 1t for we the class of 55 were about to make our great debut to the halls of Canby H1gh Surpnse' Our presence d1dn t seem to change the way of l1fe at Canby H1gh at all but 1t d1d change our l1ves In1t1at1on was for us much the same as 1t has been 1n years past Jake Connelly and Anxta Gregersen self consc1ous ly stumbled on stage to rece1ve the awards g1ven to the best dressed 1n1t1ates Our class off1cers Clarence Connelly Ron Berg Sharon Wesenberg and Myrna Foltz organ1zed the class 1n such a manner that we surpnsed every one by taklng f1rst place 1n the Curt1s Dr1ve We took fourth place w1th our One Act play The G1rls League found a problem when 1t came t1me to choose the outstandlng Freshman g1rl and the Hulbert tw1ns rece1ved the co award Sharon Wesenberg and Rae Hulbert represented us on the May Court Our class had shown great prom1se as far as the freshman year was concerned but we gave def1n1te proof our second year 1n h1gh school We had representatlves part1c1pat1ng 1n all sports wh11e 1n wrestllng we shone w1th two members of our class Joel Neuschwander and Bob Sch1el plac1ng f1rst at the D1str1ct match Our One Act play placed fourth once more We were ably gu1ded through the year by our off1cers Ron Berg Stanley Schwabauer Kae Hulbert and Jake Connelly The h1ghl1ght of the year of course was our b1ology tr1p to the coast Beverly Bremer and Kae Hulbert were the gxrls Now we really had an upper hand and we strove ahead 1n our work and play to become known as one of the most amb1t1ous classes 1n h1story dur 1ng our Jun1or year Our class off1cers were Jul1a Ann Bany Clarence Con nelly Sharon Wesenberg and Bertha Harrell We began the year w1th a pot luck supper at the home of our pres1dent for the ent1re class 1n order to begln work on the Curt1s D1ve Our One Act play aga1n placed fourth but the two spec1al h1ghl1ghts of our th1rd year the Jr Class Play L1ttle Women and the Jr Sr Prom Stardust were both tremendous successes We were proud when two of our class members became state wnesthng champs They were Jake Connelly and Joel Neuschwander Jul1a Ann Bany and JoAnn Calla han represented our class on the May Court At last we were the Sen1ors and we strove to make th1s year as full and happy as the rest Leonard Thornton Jul1a Ann Bang Ethel Kraft and Dona McT1ghe were the adm1n1strators 1n our f1nal year ur One Act play placed th1rd and our Sr Class Play The Case of the M1ss1ng He1rs had everyone s1tt1ng on the edge of h1S seat We happ1ly placed f1rst 1n the March of Dlmes dnve w1th our Block of Dlmes And then as spnng drew near we began planmng for our last good t1mes as members of the student body of C U H S We planned such th1ngs as Class N1ght Sk1p Day May Day and our one great moment--graduatlon' Thus we are just another page 1n h1SfOI'Y but one that btds a fond farewell I c I I F .
