Through strong determination to gain recog- nition for the chapter, he has worked and co-operated with the boys until he had established a friendly and closely linked chapter. He was a friend of all who knew him. The Ag. members are extremely grateful for the organization which has grown so successfully through his personal sacrifices and efforts. We see a world lull of troubles- ftroubles created by man. Troubles which can be corrected -by man provided he has the necessary education arid will' do so. You have been-given an education at the expense of the 'community and in turn you will have the responsibility to do your share to help make the world a better place in which to live. You can help correct these troubles by showing people that all men can live together under the Golden Rule. To those who graduate, to those who do not plan to return next year, and to those of you .who will return to complete your ed- ucation I wish you the very best oi success in the future. May you be wise leaders and cooperative followers depending upon the circumstances. May you live by the Golden Rule and may you show the world that a. democracy is the-best way of lite. A. L. BECK l. The district tournament, more schools and tougher competition, proved no obstacle as Canby gained a first place with 66 points and qualified 14 men tor a state tournament tussel. At the state tournament Canby was able to improve her position over last year by taking third place. Arthur Keith was again a state champ with Iunior Owings, Bob Harvey, and Ioe Kimm placing second: Larry Bair third: Lester Farmer and Leland Roth placing fourth. ' Those in the infield that look like they can hold down their positions are Freshman Ron Werronen, 3rd basep Dave Wagner. shortstop and relief pitch- er: and Bobby Kraft, a sophomore who looks good at second. In the outfield, there are no experienced fielders, but left-hand-hitting Bob Frum will probably play center. with Chuck Gelbrich and Dick Iohnson, sophomores, playing left and right, respectively. 4 Big Curt Hovland will probably handle most of the pitching chores with lack Iohnson helping him out on the mound.
