S' l , MERCHANT MARINES 3 ' r A. L. BECK Principal Principcxls Message Again after a successful school year I attempt, in a few sentences, to summarize the entire program forthe year. The greatest contribution beyond the regular academic work was our contribution to the war effort. Our courses in science and mathe- matics have been so geared as to help the boy who will be called into the service upon reaching his eighteenth birthday. Our physical education program sets as a goal the preparation of the fellows for the rigorous training of the service. At the rate we have sold stamps and bonds we are well on the way to a goal of 525,000 We have taken an active part in the paper salvage program, the collection of clothes for the Russian War Relief, the March of Dimes and all ofthe other drives aimed to help the war effort. Our activity program has been carried on in spite of a limited gasoline supply. Our football team turned in a fine record. Basket- ball, even though not in the win column, accounted for some very thrilling games. The wrestling squad, to date, has consistently turned in wins. The prospects at this time look good for baseball and track. The class plays, one-act plays, band concerts and assemblies were all well supported and appreciated. l express my appreciation to the faculty and students for a very successful school year. It is only through cooperation that such a successful school year is achieved. SCHGOL BOARD .Q 1- ul.,- HOWARD BELTON 1' .kt E if 3-f H IDA KNIGHT DREXEL WHITE 43---..
