CLASS OF 45 9 Ax is the way with all Senior classes, the class of '39 loolts back upon the years spent in Canby Union High School with regret, and forward to the years to some with anticipation. ln the past four years of study and play, the foundation of a successful life for each one of the seventy-two graduating Seniors has been laid, and now, with high school days behind them, they pause a moment to review the activities of the past four years. Many successes loom up as one reviews those four years. Members of the class made .1 consistently fine showing in scholastic endeavors and in athletic and other extra-curricular activities. The Senior year was marked by the victory of thc class in inter-class debate, basketball, volleyball, Cougar sales, and ASB ticket sales. Although all the inter-class events have not yet been completed. it seems assured that the Seniors will win the inter-class rivalry cup. The Seniors parted from custom hy choosing caps and gowns in which to graduate, instead of the traditional suits and dresses. The social activities of the year included a junior-Senior skate at The Oaks and the annual junior-Senior picnic at ,Iantzen Beach. at which the -luniors acted as hosts. At Commencement on june l, seventy-two seniors, for the third time divided equally between boys and girls, will receive their diplomas and leave behind them the portals of Canby High School.
