During the winter. the Booster Club sponsored the school ping pong touranment. which proved to be of great interest to players and spectators alike. ln the early spring a very interesting lecturer was presented to the student body by the liooster Club, in the person of Raymond Klercola, the youngest member of the first llyrd expedition to the South Pole and Little America. llr. lIercola's lecture on the expedition was thoroughly enjoyed by every one of the audience. Concluding this year's work, the liooster Club again sponsored and supervised the colorful pagean- try of Klay Day. The Future Farmers of America is the organization for all boys who are interested in agriculture. Under the supervision of Klr. Pope the Canby Chapter of the lf. lf. The Cougar staff began to formulate plans for the H1938 Cougar early last fall under the super- vision of Klr. Vlleathers. The assistant editor and manager were chosen from the .lunior class in order that experienced students will be in charge of the annual for the next year. The work of Al- fred Riggins was what the staff sought in the way of originality. Cougars were sold on an inter-class rivalry basis. Seniors were eager to make this annual available and won the contest. Sales were boosted to 192 copies, which is a record for Canby Linion High School. The staff wishes to thank those who worked with them and helped make this edition of the Cougar , possible. The lfcho staff was the most diligent of all the organizations taking an active part in school life. 'l'wo weeks after school had begun the first issue of the lfcho was published. heralding the progress that was to be made during the rest of the year. In the previous years the Ifcho was mimeographed at school, and this year a great improvement was made when the lfcho was printed for the first time in the history of Canby Union High School. The lfcho staff has supported school activities and has been a helpful organization in many ways. Because of its efficiency, the staff experienced a very successful year writing items of interest to the students. Through the cooperation of the local merchants and business men the printed paper was made possible and it became entirely self-supporting. A .liawlt Row: liiuo-j.
