If Nillllll stu-lnflv livery girl in school is a member of this organization and may in some way help carry on its ac- tivities. lleetings were in charge of Edith Crisell, president, or Frances Ciroh, program chairman, th roughout the yea r. In the past the Girls' League has always had an extensive social program, and this year has been no exception. A 'liransfer Luncheon for those girls who had come to Canby from other schools was given. A beautiful candle-light vesper service was held at the l,utheran church in Canby. Other social events were the spring dance at which our schools dance orchestra made its debut, and the annual flIother's Day Tea. The Girls' League also cooperated with other organizations to make the carni- val a success. New officers for the coming year were elected in April and installed later. 'liwelve Senior girls and twelve Junior girls have been members of this pep organization for this past year. They attended all the athletic games, either at school or away, as were possible. Through their cheering the girls sought to keep the team's morale up if they were losing or to praise them in their victory. For the second year Canby has won thc football at the Football .lambouree for having the best cheering section. lluch credit should go to these twenty-four girls who did a great deal to organize the pep of the Student Body. Bliss Ciladys Burgess has served as faculty advisor since this club was organized three years ago. and whenever the girls remember their good times as Ginger Girls they will think of Kliss Burgess. who joined in the fun and at the same time gave them such good advice. lla:-It lion: llall, llarins. 'lihe first activity of the elub was to make a study of parliamentary law.' This was done under the supervision of the eoaeh, Kliss XVillson, and proved to be of interest and benefit to the Club members. The elub next sponsored a moving pieture, Rhodes, The lfmpire Builder, for the purpose of raising funds. A tag day dedicated to baseball was supervised by the elub for this purpose also. 'lihe eluh studied drama this spring, and three one-aet plays were produced. 'l'he club has eovered extemporaneous speaking, debate, dramaties. story telling, radio speaking, interpretive reading, and parliamentary law in the eourse of the year. besides special work in delivery. 'lihe year will be ended with a elub pienie, but the members who are not graduating are already making extensive plans for the organization for next year. :Xt the beginning of the year the first year Shorthand students organized their elass into a club and sinee then became the most active class in the sehool. The stenogs had many parties throughout the year. One skate was held at the Oaks in Portland. and another was held at the rink in Canby after a pot luek supper was enjoyed at the sehool house. An April l ool's Day party was given by the losing side of a eontest. lfarly spring offered an oppor- tunity for a weiner roast on the banks of the Klolalla river. .-Xmong the other soeial activities of the elub was the bridal shower given in honor of Klrs, Klav Rohrbough, who was formerly Bliss lfranees Patterson.
