Un February ll at an impressive candle-light ceremony presented before the student body, the four newly-elected candidates were installed into membership with the members elected last spring presiding. 'lihey were presented with the emblem of the society, the Keystone and the Flaming Torch, atter having the tour fundamentals of the society explained to them. 'lihis is indeed an honor for pupils to strive tor, and by constantly keeping its objectives in mind they may be well rewarded by the time they become juniors or seniors. F -lournalism has recently become an extra-curricular activity at Canby, and those students taking part now have an Honorary which gives them recognition for their work. The Quill and Scroll, an International llonor Society for High School -lournalists was organized in the middle of the second semester when eight members were chosen. Those elected to this society must be on either the lfcho staff, fougar staff, or the Herald staff, be in the upper third of the scholastic rank ot his class, or do outstanding work in the journalistic field.
