During the year the president transferred to another school, and the presidency and vice-presidency were filled for the remainder of the year by Janet johnson and Paul Stangel. Class athletics were managed by Louis Hill and ,lean Scallon. and the class song and yell leaders were Barbara ,lean Pitts, lfsther Arneson. and ,lean lXIcReynoldS. The second year of the 1940 class was marked by the beginning of many important positions in student body activities and clubs by the members. lfdison Kliles and liob Fink made varsity footballg -lack Burden and lfdison Kliles. varsity wrestling: liob Fink, varsity baseballg Leone Luginbill placed second in the state in the girls' medium voice solo division at the State llusic Tournament, and l,enore Kleyers placed third in the Senior violin division. During the course of the year, a class skate and a class picnic were held, and as the Sophomore year draws to a close. there is bright prospect for a successful junior year. 12

Later in the year, lfugene Rlanock and Kent Klarkee were elected representatives to the Student Council. Social functions on board ship included a Junior-Senior skate at The Oaks, and the animal .lunior-Senior picnic. The .lunior play, A'Spring Fever. was presented on Klay 13. As fO1ll0l'l'0XY'S Seniors, the .luniors of today have amply shown their ability, through the past year. to carry the burden of the school's leadership through the coming year. ll
