Sophomore Class Histor llaving lost the greenness ol lireslnnen. the Sophomore class started the sec- oncl lap of their high school career with a greater degree ol' self-confidence and assurance. lleing acrluaintecl with the ways of the school the class participateml more in the activities of the school than they had in their prececling year. .Xt their first meeting' the following class offcers were chosen: Presiclent. Treas- urer. livelyn Schweitzer: Yell Leacler, ,jacqneline Neumann, SCI'gCZl.1ll-Ill-.Xl'lllS. llrnce tieisyg and Class Reporter, Hob Toon, Although small in number the class managed to present itself in most all school activities winning recognition ancl good reputation. ln all sports the Sophomores were ably represented. ln football anal basket- ball several made the squads, lion lfflers earning his letter in both sports. Two members ol' the class, .lacqncline Neumann and l,ela jayne. shown-rl rlraniatic ability by playing important roles in the Student liocly Play. .lirelyn Schweitzer assisted in the debate team in a very successful season. ln baseball the class was representecl hy Xylllllllll l.ucke. R unior Class Histor The -Iunior class embarked at the hegginning of the year with a full cargo ol. ambition. To pilot the class. now 7-l inemhers. through the many events which came up during the year. they held a class meeting and the following officers were elected: Glenn Crisell, President: Frederick lloehnke. Vice-President: l3arlrara lllosser. Secretary: Helen Yoder. Treasurer: .Xllen Thompson. Yell l.eatler: liflllil Hansen, Sf'1'QK'Zll1l-Ill-:Xl lllS. The talent of the class has developed along the lines of drainaties, hand, news- paper work. dehate. and athletics. E The juniors were very active and well-represented in athletics. Hillie Fink. and l,aNora Crites represented the class on the girls' basketball team. The -lunior boys receiving letters in football were Carter Miles, Norman Miles. Frederick joehnke. Rodney lilanehard, Frank Kendall, Clarence Krueger, Roy Meyer, and Tom Xlells. Those receiving haskethall letters were Clarence Krueger, Frank lien- dall, Frederick joehnke. and Tom XYells. llillie Fink. Margaret Moulton. and llarhara lllosser experienced a successful season in debate. Un May l7 Growing Pains was presented. The east worked hard under the coaching of Mrs. Friday, and in return for their ellforts they had the largest turn-out ever attending' a play in C. lf. l-l. S. history. The juniors successfully entertained the Seniors on May 25 at the annual 'lunior-Senior Picnic. lYith the school year drawing to a close the juniors are looking forward Io the time when they will he Seniors and estahlish records that will place the elass of '36 above all. The class advisors were Mrs. Friday and Klr. Taggart. 11:1 ,

Freshman Class Histor The Iireshman Class enrolled September 18 with 95 members. the largest in the history of the school. lit-tween that time and October 7 when the Sophomores gave them their first initiation they. same as all predecessors. wandered about the classrooms and halls in a much bewildered manner. soon to realize that the wheels of knowledge had begun to roll. XYith the initiation over. the Freshmen began their school activities by electing the following officers: President, Richard Melnmg Vice-President. Lyle lilinger: Secretary. Marie Dietz: Treasurer. Robert Colving Sergeant-at-Arms. Gordon Logan: Yell Leaders, -lime lllosser and .Xlfred Kraft. ln the annual Freshman-Sciphomore football game the Frosh, much to the surprise of everyone. broke the old established precedent by defeating the Soph- omores 0-0. The March Student Hody program was presented by the freshman members. and a large variety of ability was displayed. 'l'hey have taken part in most of the school activities and sports. Herbert liigej. Richard Tomlin. joe Fisher. Robert Colvin and Shirley Ritter were out- standing' as Rook football players. Gordon Logan and Richard Tomlin displayed much ability as basketball players with Logan making the first team squad. Howard Melvin represented the class in baseball. ln the early part of May a very enjoyable picnic was held at the Molalla River with baseball and swimming serving as the main entertainment. The Class was ably advised and assisted in its various activities during the school year by the Class advisors. Miss Gary, Mr. Pope. and Miss Vl'ight. ll4l
