S 3 Sublo Bay The naval Facilities and the town of Olongapo have provided us with many hours of fun and enjoyment., On the base, we spent our time playingminiature golF,taking in a show or iust relaxing with a meal at the Spanish Gate Cafeteria or a beer and sandwich at the China Seas Club. O longapo, a sai lor's town, allowed some of the single men to let their hair down with wine, women and songs, provided a well deserved change From the constant routine of life at sea. Tennis courts, playing Fields, ware,- sports, TV and all varieties of recreation can be Found on this beautifully lush tropical isle. Grande has its' own hotel and golf course, as well as an EM club and snack bar. Many CANBERRA sailors could he seen skindiving along the coral reefs or visiting the historical American Fortress high on the hill overlooking the harbor en- trance. Good clean Fun was a way of life on Grande and best ot' all - the mixed drinks were 25 cents.
