I 'P 'Y' RHODES - 19-22 MAY Known as The Isle of Rosesv Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese Islands. It is roughly 16 miles off the Turkish coast and about 280 miles southeast of Athens. Rhodes proper is a beautiful little city of almost 50,000. This was the site of the Colossus of Rhodesf, one of the Seven Wonders of the WVorld, destroyed by an earth- quake in 224 BC. nth ,pf f F'JT,ZBl . If '13 sig s- 'V W. L xg 1, CHURCH AT LINDOS Some Canberra men took the tour to Lindos, one of the three Ancient Cities of history. The Temple of Athena here provided photo-bugs with their Iirst real opportunity to snap away. In the City of Rhodes itself, the old town, built'be- fore Christ, was the other attraction for the camera toters.
