1987 Toot Dedication Wherever she is, there is always a group of students clustered around her: in her office, in homeroom, in the hall, or even the lunchroom. She cares about each one of us and gives us all our own nicknames, from Cropper and Penguin to Blueberry and BonesieGifted with a unique sense of humor, her play-by-play commentary puts the networks to shame. And who could forget the cheer that she and her field hockey team led in this year's Homecoming pep rally? We were surprised and amused to hear her say: Gimme a B! Gimme another B! Gimme another B! Gimme One More B! What's it spell? And the entire field hockey team replied, with their fingers to their lips, BBBBBBBUl She has touched our lives in a special way, and we, the class of 1987, dedicate our yearbook with love to Coach Marcia Laidlaw. 3

From the classrooms, to the arts, to the sports teams—we have met with success all the way. It’s a good feeling, and one we'll remember. We’ve had to make a lot of decisions this year. College, work, armed services, marriages—each of us has moved in our own direction. We leave one more success with you as we move on—our yearbook. It's a strange medley of peo- ple, and things, and memories, and dreams—a group photo album. It’s also our last chance to be remembered after we're gone. And, it marks the end of a time in our lives that will never come again. Years from noiv, we will look back in our memories, and treasure this book as the last reminder of our high school life. The chess game symbolizes our time here. Complex, chal- lenging, many-sided—we have struggled and won. Is in the game, we've made the right moves. Now it's your turn! 2

Moving On .. . Mrs. Caezza is retiring this year after many years of teaching French at C.H.S. Her colorful bulletin boards and room decorations, making French Christmas cards each year, how to say Bonjour (hello) and Merci (thank you), listening to the narration tapes for our books, and repeating after the narrators over and over to learn pronunciation will always remain in our memories. And how about the time one French 3 class held a party for her on the last day of school? They even had a cake, although they made a mistake lettering it. It said, We amuse you in French instead of We love you . It wasn't easy learning a new language. English was something we took for granted until we started to learn a new form of communication. Often our favorite answers were What? or Je ne sais pas (I don’t know). But Mrs. Caezza didn t give up on us—she kept helping us and challenging us. For that, we are indebt- ed to her. We are grateful for the effort she spent on us and wish her the best of luck in the future. 4
