Brian Keith Boston Vimfem Bavo March 30, 1974 February 27, 1972 We, the class of l975,would like to express our love and admiration to two members of our class who will not be with us at graduation. Brian's and Vinnie's journeys have ended. It is with deep sorrow we will leave without them by our sides, but forever they will remain in our hearts. ,j 0 M f j ,V- w Q ' lf' br! 59 ,Q 1 . x . f-ds! 1 --'fl it AK rl -llh.... . Sullivan T0 THE CLASS OF 1975: One of the most important tasks facing each of us as Americans is the obtainlssnt of education. As adolescents, each of you learned that you had a specific goal set before you to be students of life and develop into nature adults possessing the sense of responsibility needed to face today's challenges. This yearbook sytollses the final year of this preparation and many learning experiences are reflected dur- ing this time. Ch-adustion is indeed an important milestone in each of your lives and each of you should feel the well-deserved pride for this accomplishment. However, graduation is not the ending to your development. On the contrary, this event in your life marks the very beginning of your learning experiences. Our America is in need of responsible young men and women who perhaps will not be pre- sidents or governors but ones who will possess leadership qualities in everyday situations in life that involve dealing with people. Your generation has been characterized by an urgent sense of determination for ln- dividuallsm and justlceg and with this distinct quality you have the opportmmlty to utilize your talents and fresh ideas ln achieving your dreams. The education of a man is never complete. Herbert Spencer once said, The great aim of education is not knowledge but action. Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many non know a gr-eatdealandarethegreaterfoolsforit. There lsnofoolsogreatafoolas a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom. I encourage you as graduates to learn from experience and to apply your education. The avenue for obtaining knowledge is optimistic and the choice to hegln the process is yours. Continue to examine the world you face and begin the learning adventure ahead of you. Si ely, I 0 I gr. 1 n-1 1 To Graduates of 1975: In writing my flrst letter to a graduating class in some years, I find lysslf somewhat rsinlscing on past graduating classes. You have coapleted the first leg of your educational jour- ney and for soma perhaps the only leg of this journey. He sincerely hope we have prepared you to cope and be re- sponsible in the world you are now entering, and ln the society ln which you are going to join, revise, and pass on to future graduates. I aa posltlve you are capable and that you will sake yourselves, your school, your cozunity, and your parents proud. I would be raise if I did not say I will miss you, your spirit, and the positive contributions you have made hare at Canastota. My one wish is taken fron an old Irish saying: lay the wind always be at your back and a sails be always on your face. Good luck to all of you ln your endeavors. 1 ceraly, wiilm sep W. We learned that to put a book like this together took time, patience, and an understanding of just what it was we were striving for. This book is a collection of feelings, a mosaic pattern of captured memories, thoughts and friends. In essence, we have attempted to portray what our years of high school have meant to us. We, the editors of the 1975 Yearbook, would like to ex- perss our gratitude to the dedicated few who helped make it possible, with a very special thanks to Miss Martn and Mrs. Grossman.
