a-may g FIRST ROW: Dan Crist, Jim North, Paul Trogus, Rodney Wildermuth, Carl Heister, Ronald Fridley. SECOND ROW: Noel Heister, Bill Mcllwain, John Cathers, Tom Scholl, Jack Vance, Mr. Roshon-Coach. Coach Roshon had a record thirty-five boys out for basketball this season. Only two were returning lettermen from last year. They were Captain Rodney Wildermuth and Danny Crist, but there were other talents in Jim North, Paul Trogus, Jack Vance, John Cathers, and Ronald Fridley. Lack of height and ex- perience, severe handicaps, didn't stop these fellows as they came through with an eight and ten record. The defeating of Dublin, Gahanna, and Mifflin were the high points of the sea- son. County Champ Marion Frank1in's two-point defeat of us was a moral vic- tory. We defeated Groveport in the homecoming and final game of the regular season by a score of 68 to 56. The leading scorers were Jim North, Rodney Wildermuth, and Danny Crist with 374,286 and 270 points respectively. This year two players, RodneyWildermuth at forward and Jim North at cen- ter, made the All-County Team. They both received spots on the second team and attended the Columbus Dispatch All-High Banquet at the Ohio Union. Danny Crist, Paul Trogus, and Ronald Fridley received Honorable Mentions for their fine work. 2 FIRST ROW: Dick Loucks, Howard Solt, David Spain, Bill Mcllwain, Mike Hockman, George Bitler, Bill Newell. SECOND ROW: Darrel1Pierce, Walter Herron, Jake Douglass, Mike Murphy, Ernie Cook, Bruce Davis, Bob Wynkoop. THIRD ROW: Dick Tumer-Manager, John Metcalf, Larry Bonn, Noel Heister, Harley Swoyer, Allen Miller, Harry Richardson, Jim Trogus, Roger Hicks. The reserves had a 6-10 record for the year They were paced by freshman Allen Miller followed by David Spain, Harley Swoyer, and Noel Heister. The won and lost record is rather deceiving as there were some very close endings on a number of the games. The playing experience is helpful regardless of the outcome of the games. The varsity team for the coming years will be strengthened with these players from this year's reserves. The team was coached by Mr. Russell Gregg, a senior at Ohio State Univer- sity, and he should be congratulated for his fine job. Following are the scores of the reserve team for this year: CW Team Opponents 20 Reynoldsburg 38 36 Dublin Z7 Z4 Dublin 37 34 Mifflin 30 58 Mifflin 26 36 Marion-Franklin 41 32 Marion-Franklin 48 42 New Albany 21 45 New Albany 37 33 Hamilton 45 46 Gahanna-Lincoln 38 Z8 Gahanna-Lincoln 30 Z7 Groveport 28 56 Hamilton 60 35 Reynoldsburg 38 46 Groveport 48 Page Sponsor PARKER PHOTOGRAPHS 59
