fu' QI ROGER HANNERS We dedicate this page as a tribute to Roger Hanners, one of the most versatile athletes in Canal Winchester School history. Roger, throughout his four years of high school, was outstanding in all sports in which the Indians competed. He won fourteen letters in his sports' career. The only thing that kept Roge from winning sixteen letters was the fact that the Indians played football only during the preceding two years. During the past year, Roger was co-captain of the football team and the high scorer in Franklin County. He was captain of the basketball team which was undefeated in league competition, one of the leading scorers in the County, the only unanimous choice for the All'County team, and rated an honorable mention on the All-State team. Spring found Roger extremely active. He won individual honors at the Franklin County Track Meet as he placed first in the broad jump and the 100 and 220 yard dashes. In baseball, his favorite sport, he was on the All-County team and helped his teammates take the County championship, the District championship, and the Regional championship. During this time he pitched three shutouts and concluded his high school career by flinging a no-hitter against Mifflin to annex the County baseball crown for the Indians. .4406 W. vr,Nv. . -5.6 -1. sa, or +-4 'a .,4 .' 5 ,fy-6 f-, L1 JP A . .--1 ' ' , TQ.: X'
