In Appreciation As the days have grown to weeks, the weeks to months and the months have rolled themselves into the years, the class of '39 has arrived at the parting of the ways. Our associations here at Fulton with teachers and fellow students have been happy ones and all have left their impressions upon us. However, none have been more deeply imprinted or will be more lasting than the friendship, the hope, and the inspiration that have been instilled in us by our patroness, Miss Fletcher. With departure becoming a reality, We nonchalant seniors look back on our high school career visual- izing with pangs of regret those lost opportunities. So now-Fulton we take our leave of you, trusting that those who succeed us may better appreciate the privileges you offer and, secure in the knowledge that you will continue to furnish an intangible, vital, something to countless generations after us. These knights of the plow- share comprise the Fulton Chapter of the Future Farm- ers of America, Z1 national organization whose purpose is the fostering of interest in agriculture and the develop- ment of leadership and char- acter in farm youth. With Mr. Rinkes in an advisory capacity, the club has become a thriving organization and shows promise of heing one of our strongest cxtra-cur- ricular activities. Projectors Confronted with the problem of directing the visual educa- tion department, Mr. Rinkes initiated the projectors club, a new organization in our school. liight boys rose to the occasion and thanks to them and their advisor every de- partment of the school has had access to films touching upon its particular interests. Girl Reserves Some thirty-five of Canal Fulton's most spirited and charming young ladies have been members of Girl Reserve club this past term. Their plans for the year were most ambitious, on the serious side-vocational speakers--on the service side-the Christmas projects and needed accessories for the school, and socially- several dances, parties and a tea. Suffice it to say, the end of the year these ambitions quite well met. H1-Y Perhaps to underclassmen the Hi-Y boys appear only as stumbling scripture-readers with no other thought in mind than hurrying through the next few verses of the morning reading. However the real purpose of the club is to mold the characters of high school boys and to instill in them certain high ideals. Under the leadership of Mr. Selah, our club has advanced to a prominent position among extra-curricular activities. .mi ,V ' ' :gas jacks of all trades. They keep the books in tiers.
