In order to be in the program, it is required that the student be a Junior or Senior. The program is taught by Mr. Arthur Davis. Activities!Organizations 81 ANNUAL STAFF The 1981-82 Annual Staff, under the direction of Mrs. Lin Lovelace, met fourth and sixth periods. STEFANIE BARTLETT, MIKE COOK, MELISSA GARNER, AMY HOBDY, and DEB KENDALL worked fourth period. NENA BARBER, LAURYE BOYETT, PHYLLIS HARVEY, RUTH ANN HICKMAN, SHEILA HUNT, IMA MUNSON, MICHELLE VOORHEES, and JOHN WALSER worked sixth period. During the first six weeks staffers were taught darkroom pro- cedures fmixing chemicals, developing film, and printing pic- turesi existing light photography, layout techniques, and salesmanship Iselling ads and football programsj After the technical steps were under control , the creative wheels went into motion. Staffers were assigned sections and responsibilities and chose the theme. The hard work actually began when the staff started the plans and drawings for your 82 BEARGRASS. 82 Actlvities!Organizations For years Nan and Ben Ezzell have assisted the annual staff tirelessly by sharing pictures making special prints, and covering events with little acknowledgement for a job well done. This year we recognize the Ezzells as honorary members of the Annual Staff. sms The Annual Staft chose MUSIC MAKES MEMORIES as our theme this year because everyone is affected by music. From days of babyhood lullabies, to grade school jump-rope chants, to middle school favorite records, to high school blaring tapes, music is a vital part of our lives. Although we tried to include everyone and every group, we know we missed some of you, but we attempted to take representative photos to preserve for you the essence of your 81-82 school year. Being members of the Annual Staff required concen- tration, and a lot of hard work. Sometimes we laughed, as we climbed into Dempsty Dumpster to recover tossed-out pictures, sometimes we yelled, when we had 1000 confetti eggs to blow and fillg and sometimes we cried, when we let each other down or made dumb mistakes. In spite of it all, we enjoyed mhking these memories for you. We hope you enjoy them, too!
