JOAN CHAMBERS NOVAK 916 Porpolse Austln TX 78734 C512 261 67603 To begln wlth I have had a wonderful llfe from the day I was born ln my grandmothers house on Maln Street lD Canadlan After graduatlng I attended Stephens College ln Columbus MO a Jr Women s College Recelved a degree ln 1943 Marrled Jack Osborne 1D August 1943 Jack was ea Navy pllot I was able to be wlth hlm most of the tlme durlng the war In 1945 we came to Canadlan for a short time then to Pampa where our two boys were born Son Frank llves 1D Pampa Mlchael llves ln Austln Each have a glrl and a boy that I enjoy so much Moved to Austln 1D 1971 met and marrled a retlred Navy Captaln We moved to Lakeway 1D 1975 a retlrement communlty on Lake Travls 20 mlles out of Austln wlth golf courses etc John and I traveled extenslvly always wlth golf 1D mlnd Have been fortunate enough to play many of the courses 1D the States and numerous forlgn countrles John dled 1D 1987 I am now marrled to Charlle Novak whom I have known for years We are very happy golfing brldge UT Basketball and Football Most of all we both work 1D our wonderful Ecumenlcal Church one of the few ln exlstance DORSEY TUBB Box 1127 , Canadlan TX 79014 After graduatlng from Hlgh School I entered Texas A S M when World War II was declared I qult school and was drafted I spent three years ln the Phlllpplnes and New Gulnea returnlng home lH 1945 on the same shlp wlth Curley Owens and Jlm McMeans from Manlla I went lnto the ranchlng and farmlng buslness wlth my father I marrled Gena and we had two chlldren Mlke and Teresa Mlke lS a laser technlclan 1D Mountaln Vlew and Teresa lS a housewlfe ln Houston wlth two chlldren I went lnto ranchlng and farmlng buslness on my own In 1964 and retlred from ranchlng 1D 1978 and from farming 1D 1980 My wlfe and I have traveled the world extenslvely and have enjoyed retlrement I really enjoy turnlng over and golng back to sleep or slttlng by the flreplace when lt lS 14 degrees below zero and snowlng and blowlng outslde' I have had three heart blopsys and seven angloplastys lH the past eleven years and feel wonderful We contlnue to llve ln Canadlan and lntend to travel more 1 1 1 f . LEONARD SANDERS HCR 2 Box 40 Canadlan TX 79014 i806 323 69239 In the Fall of 1941 my brother Howard and I went to the Unlverslty of Texas to enroll 1D college We had not been there very long untll our father became serlously 111 so I had to come home to help out on the farm I stayed there untll I was called lnto the Army They sent me to Camp Roblnson Arkansas for my Basls Tralnlng then to Fort Ord Callfornla and then to Seattle Washlngton we boarded shlp there and slx days later arrlved lH Hawall for thlrty days of further tralnlng From there we went to the Johnson Islands Marshall Islands Caroline Islands and then up to the Marlanas to the lsland of Salpan where we had two weeks of lntenslve tralnlng Then we left for Oklnawa whlch lS an Island 325 mlles from Japan where we found out that we were not really very welcome when the war was over I was sent to the Phllllplne Islands and spent another thlrteen months there on Mlndoro and Luzon before returnlng to the States to be dlscharged On October 19 1947 T marrled Maxlne Owens another CHS Graduate and we have two chlldren Howard and Shlrley and two grandchlldren Scott and Krls We st1l1 llve on part of country llvlng Our maln enjoyment though comes from taklng trlps by car and so far we have vlslted every state west of the Mlsslsslppl and part of Canada We wlll observe our 45th weddlng annlversary thls year JUANITA DURHAM WILSON 4209 Crockett Amarlllo TX 79110 1807 C806 352 03177 I am retlred worked as unlt secretary for 20 years at North West Texas Hospltal Have 3 chhlldren 2 boys and l glr slx beautlful granddaughters and one handsome grandson Two of my grandchlldren l1ve ln Callfornla so I do not get to see them often enough I haven t been to a reunlon of Canadlan Hlgh School graduates I am elther worklng or off somewhere on vatcatlon when the tlme comes Llfe lS never dull' I had a chance to come to Canadlan last summer to see the Wlld Klngdom That was my flrst tlme back ln thlrty years I had forgotten how beautlful the hllls and trees are I am looking forward to the letters from all our classmates Maybe we could get some of us together sometime the farm that my grandfather started 85 years ago, and we still enjoy 1 .
